Need some help. Lipo related
I just bought a brand new 7.4. Brought it home, threw it on the charger, charger says low voltage. Hooked the lipo up to my voltage reader, cell 1 reads 0.00, cell 2 says 6.84. What do I do? I live over 100 miles from the hobby shop. Is there a way to get these to balance out? I have it on the blinky now. I have heard that you can flash a little in using the nimh setting, just unsure how to do this or if this would even work for me.
Battery - Venom 5000mah 40c 7.4v
Ice charger
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would agree, it may be a little sketchy but I would try charging it without the balance plug. There's no way, ok it's highly unlikely, that ONE cell is going to be at 6+ volts. Not without a wiring issue anyway.

I believe I got it working. I'm still watching it close, but all looks ok so far. I flashed some power into it on nimh setting until it was over 3v per cell. I noticed when I did this it took the one showing over 6v down to about 4v. I have the balancer on it and they are reading close to the same now. Taking a charge at 4amps just fine. I will discharge it to make sure it's using both cells.

At first I thought perhaps you were dealing with HP taps (which skip pins) but now I think it is the little voltage reader. It seems when the voltages are within a realistic range they are "pretty close" , yet when outside the range of 3-4.5 volts they tend to be thrown way off. Even the good readings are thrown off by the bad readings.
In otherwords if only one reading is out of range then ALL readings are suspect.

I had one pack that did that and my charger fixed it.
Put it on NIMH charge mode for 1-2 mins then change it back to Lipo charge mode. I had a bad pack and this fixed my battery.
Also cycling it a few times might also help bring it back to life.
That same Lipo wouldnt go past 8.0 now it's going to 8.20 volts.
Now if I can just get it to go to 8.40 like my good packs I'll be ok.
