My 4s are charging now. They came quite warm from the hot ups truck, wasn't pleased about that but what can you do. First runs in an hour or so. I charge at 1C like a sissy. :)

I'm not complaining because I have nothing to complain about. I have already found a supplier which has great choice of products as well as great prices, so I couldn't be happier. I was just stating the facts about shipping costs because another European asked about it, and I told him what I know. It was Dan who decided to take a defensive stance.
As for international shipping in general... Like you americans like to say, your mileage may vary. AMain's cheapest international shipping is UPS Mail Innovations and costs $0.69 (though it only works for smaller packages). That gets a product to my door in approximately 8-10 business days. I love it, and consider AMain the best place to get spares, minor hop-ups, screws, and other hardware. I almost always buy RC cars from my local Norwegian shops because it costs about the same as what I would pay had I ordered from US. And for batteries there is no place like HobbyKing. Well then Euro dude as us Americans say, go take your business to them. We don't need ya stinking up threads with garbage rhetoric and no proof. SMC batteries are great. Danny is a standup guy. Hobbyking batts work but its hit or miss. If you need something replaced goodluck with them. Your obviously a person with several pre judgements about many things judging by your redonkulous attitude about us "Americans". Please save the wewe measuring rhetoric for someone who cares. Oh and buy from hobbyking so you can spend your money on petro and income tax and other ridiculously overpriced things in your hometown. |
Do you know when the next shipment will be in I need to order a couple of the 7200 inboard stick packs
|
Just charged/ran a 4s 70c pack. Definitely more punch than the 65c nano tech (hoped so for ~40$ more. I forgot to watch the clock of course but seemed like I ran for ages and still came in at 3.93v/cell.
Would definitely recommend. I will be grabbing two more when they're back in stock. I think four of them will be the sweet spot and make my mbx6t basher complete. Thanks smc. |

Getting another partial shipment by the middle of next week. I think supply will come in regularly from now on so if when we run out it won't be for to long. |

For the 5600 with Traxxas I'm not sure waiting on an update from the factory. |
I ordered a couple of the shorty lipos for my 22 buggy. I'm new to rc cars and I'm used to having the balance leads etc wired directly to the packs. I forgot to order charge leads for them and sent a message via the online form that night. I was going to call the next morning to make sure I could get some on the shipment. Wife ended up having car trouble and didn't be a chance to call. No worries, Danny had responded via email the night before and called me that morning to make sure I got what I needed. I've been ordering rc stuff for three years now online and I've never had someone take care of me like that. Simply exceptional service.
I went to my local track last night and was waiting on my lipos to charge (charging at 1C for the first half dozen cycles or so). A friend lent me one of his Venom shorty lipos so I could run some laps while mine charged. After running the Venom and then the SMC packs (both rated 40C) the SMC pack had a noticeable amount of more zip down the straight. I don't know how many cycles were on the venom pack, but he said it was only a few months old so it couldn't be an extreme amount. Winner SMC. The only thing I've found that I don't like is the fit of the pack. When using the stock battery tray they are really tight tryin to get the pack out. Versus the venom they are a few mm longer. I am going to try the aluminum battery tray as it should allow me to move the tray forward a smidge which should solve the issue. Yeah it's $20 to get a good fit, but I'm still money ahead over buying Venom packs! I will chime in later as I get some more cycles to report how they are holding up. At this point though my lipo needs will be dealt with through one source, SMC. |
Are there any break-in recommendation for these SMC packs? Or can I just charge and go?
|
I back ordered a couple packs on the site. Looking forward to trying them out once they are in stock!

Dirt Burner: Thanks for the nice post. Our 4300 shorty is 50C rated by Factory specs.
As far as the size of the pack we always make it for maximum ROAR size. Hope you enjoy this pack for many months. |
