Thank u danmy . I've been saying for a long time that 4.20 is fine. No need to drop charge rates to 4.18 and swear by it. .02 volts per cell isn't going to do anything to the pack in any way . pumping 2000mah in to a pack takes same time as charging to 4.20

I just run a Team Checkpoint TC1030(rebranded/upgraded DuraTrax ICE), Equinox balancer, and an LRP 20A PSU. Whole setup cost me $70 used. It lets me charge @ about 2C & discharge at about 5c(30amps), and has a ton of options including graphing. I run 4 batteries though, 1 for practice, 2 for heats, and one for the main and just charge at home. If I was running multiple classes I'd probably look at something stouter or just get another TC1030 and run both off my LRP. The TC won the charger shootout they did awhile ago @ BigSquid against the:

Duratrax Onyx 230
FMA Direct CellPro 10s Charger
Venom Pro Charger Plus
Hyperion 720i NET3
Hyperion 615i DUO3

I set all me speed controls to cut off at 3.5volts per cell. I think that also helps a lot on battery life.

Some chargers, like the iCharger can be calibrated. I tested it against a calibrated fluke meter from work.

Also know that a charger will put out less voltage under full charging amps, due to the loss in the circuits and wiring. As amps drop towards 100% charge, the voltage available to the battery will increase closer to the source voltage. Your VOM should be measuring voltage as close to the battery as possible during this. I also verified it at full charge rate and at trickle charge.

I also noticed that after calibrating the charger, the per cell voltage reads differently than the total voltage. As if the calibration did not affect the individual cell readout. Either that or possibly the charger was trying to correct for some assumed loss in the wiring, but doubtful.

It would be a good idea to recheck the calibration, mine is probably overdue. Make sure you are using good connectors. I had a balance connector that was creating enough resistance and voltage loss to confuse the charger during balancing mode.

Do SMC lipos still cost $120+ to ship to Europe?

We hope to have 70C packs listed on the site by this weekend to start shipping on the 15th.

For International shipping we must use UPS as it's illegal to ship via postal service out of the US. This makes shipping expensive but we will not break the shipping regulations to make a few dollars selling outside the US.
