Thank you sir, much appreciated. Good luck with the sales. I'll let you know if I win a national championship with your packs next month.

Any chance we could get something like the Reedy Wolfpack batteries for mod? 5000 30c with sockets. I know you have the less expensive 5000 full size with Deans, maybe the same battery with sockets, it really cleans up the wiring. The lower C battery really makes a 2wd mod car easier to drive and less prone to wheelie popping.

Thanks,
Mark

We now offer our 5000-40C with inboard tubes. I suspect it will have more power than the Wolfpack but the price is low.

With todays lower IR packs you can charge them at higher rates with no negative effect. 2C is fine. I don't like leaving a pack with to much storage charge. I think 3.6 to 3.8 is where they should be at.

The iCharger is expensive. The PL6 from Revolectrix can charge up to 40 amps and is cheaper and super adjustable. I understand the iCharger is dual charger but most don't need to charge 2 packs at the sametime. That being said if you have the money then the iCharger is a good charger for sure.
I have this new icharger (4010 Duo) and I charge 2 packs at once all night at the track. I run two classes and its very handy to have a dual output charger. I've yet to really need to charge at more than 10a because this charger balances very fast. I do run two packs for each car so that I can let the packs cool between charging. This charger is really good, and I'm happy with it.

Danny been interested in these for a bit and have a question. What is the main difference between the factory and race packs?

Never heard of this before but is definitely worth checking out. Looks really impressive. Found this light hearted review of the PL8

Aloha All,

I have a high-IR 7200 2S from SMC. The battery performs great, however I'm running into an issue where the negative female bullet receptacle in the battery is VERY tight. So tight in fact that I often need to use pliers to remove my 4MM Protek male bullets from the ESC.

While I know tighter is better than looser, this is a bit extreme and makes me hesitant to use this pack.

Anyone else have this issue? Any tips/tricks?

Thanks in advance!

7200 packs look to be the new king of the hill. They cycle better than anything else out there currently.

Danny, have you ever seen this graph? It was surprising to see that going to 4.2v/cell has such a dramatic effect on cycle life compared to 4.1. It would be an easy rule change to make max voltage 4.1 and batteries would be much happier for it. Now that we're not trying to compete with NiMH, why not?

Interesting that it's so dramatic a difference. I have always understood that battery damage occurs at the "ends" of the capacity limits. The discharge cutoff is 2.5v. I wonder how that test would turn out if the LVC were 3.0v?

Here is some more info:

After my 5600mah lipo quit on me today about 40 secs. from a podium finish I ran home and ordered a smc 7200 race formula. Glad I ordered when I did cuz now they are out of stock.
