So far I'm ran mine at 2 different outdoor asphalt tracks in 2 different states with no problems. And 2 different indoor/carpet/foams tracks in 2 different states with no troubles. Awesome system!!!

All I can say is WOW. I used mine last Friday racing in both of my touring cars and not a single hiccup. It performed great outdoors with 9 other racers on the road course. My touring oval car worked great with the Novak 4300 brushless system and there were alot of rubbing going on...The great thing is being able to do adjustments to your car, have the radio on and not to worry about being on someone else's frequency. It's all worry free racing from now on....

?????????

Since the 3PK was the last one to come out, should'nt have all the bugs been work out, my receiver power light some time goes off for no reason, and it did not work with KO servo?

Does anyone know 2.4Ghz are widely used by microwave, coreless phone and some PDA like I-pod with something called "wide-5"............?
I talked to my brother who is a computer guy can he was surprised to hear that 2.4ghz is used on RC controller....and he is not surprised to see the Specktrum has the glitching problem espeically indoor when PDA and microwave are easy to spot..

I (or him) might be wrong....but is that true..?

I have not heard of the glitching indoors but i have heard of slower response time, witch you can fix with a reciever pack or a cap.

No its not true... ALL 2.4GHz equipment scans for free channels and allocates unused channels only....

If the system is glitching something else is up like a dry solder joint, problems with a servo, etc etc

:D

after market capacitors

don't want to buy the world upgrade kit for the LRP Q2 just to get a Capacitor for 25 bucks will this work? 4.7µF 35V 20% Radial-lead Electrolytic Capacitors

Receiver Dimension

Hi,

Can someone shed some light on the dimension of the Spektrum receiver? I can't find that anywhere.

Thanks in advance.

It's a little longer than a 203hf receiver.

FCC regulations state that a device must NOT emit harmful interference and also must accept all interference given to it. If the device has FCC certification (which the Spektrum does) then it has been tested and approved by the FCC. Does this mean it is foolproof, of course not. But under their testing, which is fairly stringent from my research, the device when operating should not interfere with any other signal not on its band. Strange harmonics etc may play a part, but it is incredibly unlikely that a Spektrum will interfere with a non Spektrum radio. There was a guy at our track the other day on AM 29Mhz and his car was going nuts. He thought somebody was on his channel, nobody was that we could find. Blame my Spektrum?

Similarly the Spektrum receivers are required to be tested by the FCC that they cannot receive harmful interference. Therefore mobile phones, cordless phones, PDAs etc should not interfere with them in any way as the Spektrum systems have a "collision detection" system built into the software to prevent harmful interference from glitching them.

Anybody who has experienced glitching before knows that there can be many causes of it, and not all related to radio interference. My feeling is that a lot of the Spektrum "glitching" is related to compatability with certain other electronics and possibly even voltage issues.

I don't have one in front of me...but I know that it is a little smaller than the Novak XXtra receiver.
