Help!!

I've got a big race I want to be in on Saturday, so no time to order parts or ship for replacements....

but my giant lab got hold of my radio and chewed the antenna off. There's about a quarter inch of wire sticking out, but that's it. I'm losing signal now on my car at about 20 yards.

Suggestions? Anybody know what gauge wire I could solder onto the original wire so that I can just limp through this weekend?

It's a coaxial cable and not just a wire. Soldering on wire may or may not work but since the antenna is toast why not give it a try. 22awg or smaller would be about the correct size for the core wire.
