Failing all that... try the 4.7 software, as that gives boost and turbo control, and has some lower levels of initial drive too (which I've found even just 1% can make a big difference in how smooth the car is). I get the feeling 5.4 is aimed more at Blinky stock than boosted....
I was looking at running less initial drive, but all that does is make it smoother initially, it's quite strange it just gets to a point probably 1/4 throttle and it goes from being nice and linear to jumping quite drastic. This is very apparent having my hobbywing car running next to it on the bench. I have tried running the boost ramp less, it just has no power then. I see the V5 Firmware seems to be very popular, trying to give that a go when I can get my USB Bridge working

Default LRP Flow Programming

As a recent purchaser of a Flow Works ESC, I am generally very happy with it, with one exception. Programming.
I need to get it into 'Boost 0' mode for blinky spec racing but have not been able to. All I get is a solid blue light at neutral. According to instruction, resetting to factory default should enable boost 0, but I'm thinking I am doing it wrong. Manual says to hold set button whilst switching ESC on, but it then goes to initial setup for throttle calibration. Thinking maybe I need to do throttle calibration as well?
Motor used is Tekin Redline Spec 2.

Your radio must be on and in the neutral position for the blue light to blink so perhaps setting the neutral positions again will help.

Yep, definitely had TX on, throttle at neutral and trims centred. Is there an easy step by step guide to programming? The brief description on the included manual isn't great. I'm sure it makes perfect sense to someone who is familiar with the process but I couldn't make it happen. ie wasn't sure what mode I was in etc.

It's the last modified firmware, as I had been using this in mod class, V4.7 I believe.

After completing the factory reset work through the radio calibration steps, ensure if you are using ABS in the transmitter that you disable this first. If the ESC is not blinking check the following:

1. Is the motor turning? set your neutral to stop this.

2. Are the breaks activating? set your neutral so the breaks disengage.

3. What is your Torque Timing (Mode.3) set to? Needs to be 0.

4. What is your Boost Timing (Mode.4) set to? Needs to be 0.

ESC should be blinking after all this has been completed. If not, apply a firmware update and try again, maybe visit the shop you bought the ESC from and get them to assist, some one at your track might also be able to help you out.

Firmware 4.7 defaults to boost and turbo values other than 0

As mentioned above you need to set mode 5,6and 8 to 0 to get blinky mode

Mode 5 = blue led blinking
Mode 6 = red/blu blinking
Mode 8 = red/ble/yel blinking

Thanks for your suggestions, I will re-check my settings and try again.
I attempted to set modes 3 and 4 to zero, but a large part of the problem was making sense of the programming, not being sure how to get into programming mode, or having a clear indication what mode I was in.

ok.. so if I was to reinstall the original firmware (1.7) then reset to default, would that set boost zero?

different firmware revisions have different mode charts, so getting the right firmware mode chart is important

Install 5.4 and it should default to blinking

I'm not sure if 1.7 existed, factory was 1.4.

5.4 is what you should be running for stock

Sorry, my mistake, 1.4 is correct, I was referring to the original factory firmware. I will install 5.4, reset and see what happens. Hoping that's all it is as I've been very happy with it thus far.

Arrggggg!!!!

Can some one remind me how to do a factory reset on a Comet?

(I've asked this in the past but can't find the post).

Thanks

Is it not the same as the Flow, press and hold the set button while powering on the ESC ?
