Does the Spektrum have enough inputs/outputs to run a personal transponder and the capacitor??
|
yes,
batt plus 3, if I recall correctly |

Read down. I used a novak 4700mp capacitor. I tried a smaller cap, but it didn't work. you could get one from radio shack I am sure. Just get something aroudn 5000mp at 10v. That should do it. You can plug it into the batter slot on the receiver, or I would say the 3rd channel as I believe the power connections in the receiver are common, but don't quote me on that.... |
Ok thanks a lot pit crew I'll try it tomorrow.
I'll plug it in the Batt slot because I have a personal transponder (plugged in Auxiliary) |
Originally posted by vanguard your rumors and fear post was the 12th post on the first page, the "cover up" post was the 10th post on the third page, so don't even bring that up. and you agree that there is lag in response, you just don't think anyone can tell. so here we are, youv'e disputed your own posts and are backed into a corner, i guess now is when you go into attack mode. people were having issues and posted so. someone (PIT CREW) found a fix. and those that have tried it are happy and say it works. fold it up, put it in a box, shake it, spin it, spread it out anyway you want, you were WRONG nice try. Just like everyone and his brother declaring that the TC4 is "crap." Just because they couldn't adapt to setting it up. Now that Baker came out with a great basline setup, people aren't hammering the TC4 so bad. Do you see my point?!? That when one or two people online have "issues" all of a sudden a product gets a runaway reputation as being crap! That my friend is irresponsible and not adult behavior. Also..about my opinions being out of sync with the pages on which they appear. I read many different threads and forums. I simply expressed my condensed opinion in this thread. In the end...I'm NOT saying that there isn't anyone without problems. What I am saying is that a majority of folks aren't having any and to insinuate that that the "problems" are more serious than they are is dangerous and immature. Spektrum and technologies like it are poised to free us from the shackles of FM Frequencies forever. Lets not destroy a good thing without giving it at least the benefit of the doubt. |
I'm happy the Spektrum has arrived. Just think about the potential of this technology. Just to name a few: onboard telemetry and force feedback. Onboard telemetry will revolutionize rc racing. Having real time data such as battery/fuel, heat, rpm, speed, etc. Another thing is force feedback on our transmitters. This will allow the driver to get additional input from how the car turns or hits a wall or another car. I could go on with more stuff but these are the features I hope will be available soon.

True but LiPo is gaining on the power department and I'm sure we'll be using LiPo soon. Blackstock used LiPo as a Rx battery for his 12l4 at the SnowBirds. LiPo is light and provides great power for a small package. The only thing is it's a little dangerous if not charged correctly.

I am totally happy with the Spektrum and I have ran two systems with NO problems at all. And each system has been moved to each car.
Car stats; HPI PRO4 / Losi XXX-S LRP / GTX Speedo Hi Tec HS-6965hb servo Trinity C2 motors AMB personal - battery slot Servo - 1 Speedo - 2 Motor fan - 3 and no cap installed Both cars ran on Outdoor asphalt track. I have seem the Spektrum work from the early development stages with no problem that I am aware of. |
Man this thread grew fast !!!! After reading all the post , and seeing it numerous times , i hate to burst any bubbles , but 2.4ghz is far from new technology. This has been out for many many years. It has just become new to r/c . The technology we have been usuing is so ancient its pitiful . The issues with slow servo responce and ill power to the servo is one thing , but for these things not to bind right out of the box is crap , and horizon not having a supply specifically for warranty issues is even more crap !!! Its not up to a guy writing an artical for a magazine to cover all the bases when it comes to multiple conditions this thing will incounter around the world , but horizon had many prototypes in the hands of many racers in many different racing enviornments. If there were problems like these , it shouldnt have been released until it was right. We can go round and round with this , but untill horizon or a rep on their behalf steps up to the plate , we are getting nowhere !!!!!! So far , PITCREW your the man !!!!!! You are the only who has fixed any issues with this product.

Thanks man!
Glad I could help. Next fix will cost $5 each though...;) I mean to me, not some company (novak) relabeling a $.50 capacitor. You could get the same thing at radio shack, but it wouldn't have that cool Novak shiny stiker on it.. HAHA. I like shiny. |
I ran my spektrum in 12th scale and 10th scale last weekend with no problems. I use Keyence speedos and airtronics servos. A friend of mine also used it and had to slow his servos down because it was too fast. He has a quantum 2 and airtronic servos. We run at different indoor tracks. There must have been a bad batch.
