New Radio Coming...Check Horizon's Website. Its DSM2 like the DX7 Aircraft Radio. That means no module, its direct conversion from you fingers to Spread Spectrum.
The radios with modules take the analog PPM signal and convert it to FM or DSM. The new Spectrum DX3R encodes from a high speed serial conection direct from the processor and has faster latency than ANYTHING else on the market.

Scott, I wish I knew what to tell you. I just bought 2 more 3500s last week and they both bound perfectly. You're positive the polarity is correct going into the receiver? If you plug the battery or ESC in backwards it will not bind. Um... It's weird though that you say these bound to other modules though? Or am I mis-reading what you said?

Ay yi yi...
I just "reversed" the battery polarity and it bound. Idiot behind the wheel syndrome.
However...in my defense...the Spektrum polarity is reversed to any other receivers I own. On my JRs and Novaks, when you hold the receiver such that you are reading the marks (ch1, ch2, ch3, batt) the black wire is always to the right. On the Spektrum if I hold it so I can read the marks (B,S,T,A) the black wire is, apparently, on the left.
Do I need to plug the servos in "backward" as well? Meaning instead of the normal L-R order (when receiver is held so I can read the markings) of signal-pos-neg I will turn it around so the L-R order neg-pos-signal?
Many many thanks Gary. You're absolutely correct...it seemed like WAY too much of a coincidence. Maybe if you have a minute call the techs in service, tell them I'm a moron and ask them to send the receivers back? They have me as Scott Smith on a 59108 zip.

If I have the DSM Module SM1000 for my 3pk, do I benefit from getting a Pro Receiver SR3001 over just getting SR3000 original Receiver? If I do, what is the benefit? Other question, is it worth it to upgrade from regular module to the Pro Module?
Thanks for your time

Yes, you will get 1/2 the latency improvement when you use the Original Series modules with the Pro Series SR3100 or SR3500 receivers. The same is true if you use A Pro Series Module and an original SR3000 receiver- 1/2 the latency improvement over the original equipment.

Also one thing i like about it is that it only runs off of 6volts (meaning 4 AA's batts)!! No need for small or any other light battery packs.

From: A step closer to where I need to be a step further from where I was
Got a pro system about a 2 months ago. After the radio had been unused for a week I turned it on and there was no "bind" reset it after some difficulty and raced. This weekend same thing but wouldn't bind at all. Tried other radios modules and finally another reciever which worked, then I reinstalled mine and it worked. This morning no bind and wouldn't take one, any ideas this system is 2 months old
and I have no desire to go back to crystals. The module has a faint flicker at the light the receiver is blinking like it should. How good is Horizon / Spektrum on service issues?

hi all, i just bought a spektrum pro system. the antenna wire is thin and grey. i also bought a 2nd hand spektrum pro receiver which is 1 yr old and has a thicker black antenna wire.
is this normal? did the factory upgrade the antenna wire or did the seller resolder the antenna wire on? or did i get a wrong antenna wire my pro system?

Just to clarify, it's the receivers or module that you're having the issue with? It sounds like you will probably have to send it in. Don't worry, the service guys rock.

Dear Spektrum,
thank you for your service on order 7221519. Your promptness and price are beyond the usual threshhold.
For all other readers, I had a snag crop up on my original receiver with the bind falling off followed by the whole piece taking a dump. I wondered if Spektrum would even look at it; they sent me a new one !!
I've run Spectrum from the beginning in an M8. There was the first set of problems encountered, dealt with by Spektrum in the same rapid and free way. This company is a world leader in customer service.
I too, eagerly await the new transmitter set.
Again, thanks Spektrum and Shannon Funk.
