Ok so I think this ProTek life battery is ok, I charge it on my Hyperion it shuts off at 7.2v and then I put it in the radio and it drops to 6.8v very fast in like 3min, and that's why I thought it was bad but then it held from 6.8 to 6.7v for a little over 3hrs then I shut it off. I should be able to run it down to almost 6v so that is plenty of time a shit ton more than the factory one. U guys that have the same ProTek battery 2 cell 6.6v 2100mAh does yours do that where it drops from 7.2v to 6.9 6.8v quickly?

I just bought a 4PKS-R. I think this is the first radio I have ever owned that comes set to "50/50" by default.

I tried to set it to "70/30" but now I am unable to readjust the neutral point.

What I have done:

MENU 2 -> THMOD -> MODE -> FWD70/BRK30 -> END
MENU 2 -> ADJST -> THROTTLE -> readjust stuff -> END

Attached is what my throttle servo screen looks like. You can see that the throttle neutral did not reset after the "ADJST" procedure. What did I do wrong?

What is anyone doing for a case for these radios? I am looking for metal and pre-cut foam insert. Before you say "Amain", I want mine to say "FUTABA" on it.

Skip the futaba part. The cases are not all that high of quality compared to say a pelican case. You drop and bang around those metal cases and they get dented and scuffed. You can run over a pelican case with a car. I used a pelican 1450 with mine. The foam is a pluck it out to fit what ever you want kind of thing. And if you get a new radio in the future you can order a new foam insert.

So I put a 603 rx into my nitro car and tested. I got 3 houses down and the car glitches. Put a 614 in and same issue and the car ran away from me. Has anyone ever had this issue? Remote is only about 6 months old and only used indoor. It's a super R

Nope. The antenna hinge is but the wire seems to be in tact.

Having a strange issue with binding rx's. I have the 4pks-r with 2 R614FF-E and 2 R603FS receivers. I have to turn the car on first, then turn the Tx on to get any of them to bind.

1 614 binds find 98% of the time, the second I have to have the Tx on the M1 profile to bind it then move it to the actual model that it's in. (The first 614 is on M1, I haven't checked to see if it will bind to another model.

Now the 603's one binds fine the other not at all, no matter what I try.

Is this is tx issue or issues with the rx's?

+1 I purchased this case Condition 1 101179 Watertight Medium Case with Foam Water Proof/Dust Proof for my 4PKS-R, and as you can see from the pic, it says "Futaba". This case is every bit as good as a Pelican 1450 (I own Pelican cases for my photo gear), the Condition 1 latches are much easier to use, and it's $30+ cheaper than the Pelican 1450 on Amazon. I also agree that the metal cases are cheaper quality and after time get dented and scratched.

On a different note, I've had my 4PKS-R for a little over a month now. What a dramatic improvement from my 3PM-X. Because the steering and throttle response is so much more smooth, my lap times have dropped dramatically, and more importantly lap to lap consistency has also dramatically improved.

Seems like a lot of the questions in here don't get answered but here goes lol. The 2 dial above the grip first one being the steering dual rate, the second one the atl dial, is that a throttle dual rate? If so does that work with eclectic cars with esc's? As in you turn it down and it backs the braking power down, or does it slow down how fast the braking reaches full power? Thanks guys.

Default 604 vs 614 Receiver

Hello - I purchased a 4pk super R last week here. It was used 8 months with a receiver. I just noticed the receiver is a 604 receiver. I'm thinking the owner sold me the old receiver and kept the 614.

Does this make any difference in speed, etc. I race a SCT 410 Tekno. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

yah, the 2nd one should be the brake intensity. very useful for pancars and rear wheel drive cars.

Going back to your question about other cheaper receivers that can be used for your bashing, I found a list. I think you need to change antenna settings to FAAST-C1, power off, and power on in order for these to work if you are in FAAST-C2 mode which is the factory setting.

R603FF
R603FS
FrSky TRF4

But then again, the reason why I bought the 4PKS-R is for performance so I only use R614FS and R614FF-E in my cars.

I also run Spektrum DX4S on my off roaders (Spektrum has water resistant receivers). Works fine for me.

I know this is an old post. I had the same issue. But it seems this is normal when you shift the throttle mode form 50/50 to 70/30. When 50/50 is selected the servo monitor will indicate 0 but in 70/30 the servo monitor goes -30.

Pass you soon...
