That tight trigger is a big reason I stay with futaba. No need to have a whole finger in the trigger and no gap going from throttle to brake

It is an adjustment if your used to other radios. My only other experience is with spektrum and it didn't take me much time to get adjusted to the trigger. I feel like I have better control with just my fingertip. I don't know if there is anything else that can be done. I love my 4pks-r!

Critical issue need help fast!!
Why do these manufacturers not make setting fail safe instructions much and process much more simplifed and user friendly to get done? I mean. its only the most critical part in running rc ya know? So the fact I cant figure out why i cant set my fail sage on my new 4pks-r is really pissin me off. Ive spent over an hour and i quit as of now. WHY CANT I SET THE PERCENTAGE VALUE FOR FAIL SAFE ON EACH CHANNEL. ALL I CAN ADJUST IS THE MODE- EITHER LOCK, OFF, F/S HOLD. IT WONT LET ME SELECT VALUES FOR EACH. ALL I WANT IS FULL BRAKE AND LOCKED OUT STEERING FOR FAIL SAFE. IT SHOULDNT BE THIS DIFFICULT FOR THE MOST CRUCIAL PART OF THE SET UP!! RANT OVER

If that is all correct and they really mean the 4pk not the s or s-r then those can not be far off the performance of the m12 / mt4s

They must mean the 4PKS-R. If not, there are two versions after the 4PK, and that would bring the 4PKS-R unrealistically close to the M12.

Thx for the help gusy sarcasm... lol j/k I got it figured out to change the value settings/percentages for each channel in fail safe u have to press both buttons + - at same time. Nice if the manual said so...

How is the R614FF-E receiver? I know it has an internal antenna. Does it have a shorter range? Slower response time? Or is it the same as the R614FF just an internal antenna?

I had one but sold it with a car a while back. It didn't seem to have a shorter range at all but I only used in for on road which yielded smaller tracks. As far as I know it is the same as the FF with an internal antenna.

I run the FFE in both SC and ebuggy and have never had a range issue when racing or bashing for that matter. Obviously it's meant for electric kits, I wouldn't hesitate to run it

I bought a Amain protek life 6.6v 2cell 2100mAh battery for my 4pks-r and I'm having problems with it. Its actually the 2nd one I returned the first battery for same issues. hen I charge it in the radio it wont charge, I have the radio set on nimh & life battery setting which is actually the setting its on from stock with the stock battery. Then I try charging it on my battery charger a Hyperion 615i duo3, I set it on life setting and tried everything from .5 to 2 amps, at 2 amps it charges and discharges pretty fast, and when I put it in the radio it drains in a matter of min? Is it possible that I got 2 bad batteries from Amain? Is it cuz they sit on the shelves too long? I cycled it probably 10 or more times to wake it up and its still the same. The cells are balanced, so I don't know what the issue is, any suggestions am I missing something? which batteries are u guys using in the radio? Thanks

I vaguely recall something about the radio coming set 50/50 throttle/brake but all other futaba radios in the past were set 70/30? And that most people are going in and changing it to the 70/30 setting. Where do I do that?

I have the Protek LiFe battery also. I only charge it my charger and never the radio. I charge at 2.1A and it takes around 40 minutes I think. Lasts maybe 5-6 hours?

Change it in THMOD->Mode. Change it to 70/30. There's only 2 choices. 50/50 and 70/30

I am using the Hobbico LiFe pack recommended by Tower. I personally remove the battery from the radio to charge so i can balance charge it (I do the same with my aircraft radio). In my opinion, its a small price to pay for the lighter battery that lasts 3x longer than the stock battery per charge.
