I see a lot of mixed opinions and experiences with gens ace batteries. I want to convert my D8 to electric and was planning on getting some Gens Ace 4S 5000Mah 40C hard cased batteries to power it. Should I go for these or are there better batteries for the same price? Or are high dollar packs worth 3 times the price...

Gens Ace batteries are up there with the *big brands* their quality is as good if not better.
I have a buddy who has been testing his 8th scale buggy with 2 two cell shorty packs and has been getting 13+ minutes before the show any sign of falling off. I'm a 10th scale guy myself and have found these batterys best I have personally used. I have packs with over 200 cycles on them and are still very strong.
Hope this helps answer some of your concerns.

I have several and they seem to hold up well with no issues. Do anyone charge them over 1C?

[QUOTE=dracy69;11184386]I had some bad luck with my Venom 35c 4S after 3 months, it started swelling.

I had been running the Shorty 4200mah 60c 2s and they are great in my B4.1 WE. I'm very happy with them, you should try them !!!

I wouldn't go more than 2c if you want to get max performance, long life, and to be safe.

They are very good. You can use the 5800 regular or 6000 Saddle packs for the 8 min Mains and the 5000 for the 5 min quals. That is what I do. ;)

I run a 5000 40c in an SCTE and when run down to cut off, one pack puffs a bit. But it has recovered from this multiple times. I have abused 4 of these packs pretty good and they keep on going. In lighter vehicles, no issues ever. I would buy again easily.

Is Gensace still in business? I love their lipos but last week I had to buy another brand because they have not had lipos in stock for a while now.

MOmo 04-28-2013 09:53 AM

I got a GA 3s lipo awhile back and like any lipo, I check the cell voltage. Using a digital checker to tell me each cells voltage the first 2 seemed normal, but when it went to read the 3rd cell, it told me the total of the 2 cells, not 3.

Has anyone had that happen, or suggest the best way to fix it? My guess is that the connecting wire for the 3rd cell came loose. Anyone ever attempt to fix a problem like this, and since its a hard case lipo, What will the case be like to re-assemble?

It's been so long, I wouldn't think I could warranty it.
