Any suggestions for logging?!

Hi there,

I just got a Tekin RX8 to put in to my Kyosho MP9 and was wondering if there is way to log the current draw so I can take a look at it later?! Not interested in looking at it while driving!

thanks,
G

One option, but I understand it does not work with 64 bit computers. I got one I use with windows XP & 7, 32 bit.

I got the novak because I could afford it. lol

Eagletree may be better, I don't know & they may have one less expensive. Also Novak has no plans for any more updates (software)
They (Novak) do not list a replacement mount ( It will eventually break) No biggie you just need to place tape over the usb port while running in a vehichle.
The prices I found novak $69 eagletree $149
Also not sure of warranty on novak

Just some pros & cons of both

Thanks for the input guys! I had Novak products before and liked them. I also checked the eagle tree stuff and it seems to be solid as well. Would this be something I am looking for?!

How good is the accuracy on these things?! I am mainly interested in AMP draw?!

thanks,

What sort of amps are you looking at measuring ?

I love my Elogger v4 150 amp version, great tool

Cheers

The one best for you would probably be the one that does what you are looking for. Any extras you might use in the future are a definite Plus.

Also make sure the one you choose can handle the amperage your system carries.

I have checked temp & amp draw with an ammeter (no load) Mine (a Novak) was within 1/100th of an amp.
I have no reason to believe anything from Eagletree could be less accurate. I have heard only good abouy their products.

Hope this helps

No idea?! I am gonna be putting it in a kyosho mp9 running a rx8/1900kv combo. I have 4s car batteries but would like to use some of my heli batteries. 6s 2650 40c... so the batteries should be good for 100amps. I have a Turnigy Wattmeter but did not hook it up yet! I was wondering if it measures peak or continuous amp draw?! Must be continuous, otherwise useless info since peak can be way higher?! Maybe that is all I need?! Hook it up and see how many amps it will draw?!

thanks,
G

Like I said, I have a Turnigy Wattmeter. Maybe that is all I need?! Not sure what it really measures, ha ha. Have to take a look at the manual...

A wattmeter will measure max amps and min voltage

A datalogger like the Eagletree will capture the data for a full pack and let you graph it

Here is a sample graph with voltage and amps

Hmmm, this is interesting?! I wonder if I would be able to even understand what the log is telling me?! According to your log, your max amps are 180 and the you average around 15??? How can you tell by those numbers what ESC you need and how many C your batteries need to have?! I dont get it!
