150C battery
I'm a beginner and would like to run my Losi XXX-SCT in Stock and Mod classes. I was wondering about an interesting LiPo battery. I'm sure there are other brands, but MaxAmps has a:
Hard Case Race Edition LiPo 6500 2-cell 7.4v Battery Pack with a true 150C rating. Ignore the expensive price for now. ROAR APPROVED 3-year 300-cycle guarantee 45+mph in most brushless setups(7.4 volts) 39 minutes average run time(6500mah capacity) True 150C rating 5C fast charge capable 100% waterproof Hard outer case Built today with factory fresh cells Built with genuine 12awg Deans Ultra wire We add the connectors and balancing taps for you 139mm x 47mm x 25.1mm, 354g Would not this battery give my stock SCT running a Tekin 17.5 turn motor and Tekin RS ESC great acceleration using blinky mode? Wouldn't it run more like a Mod class SCT? After successive quals, several quals, and maybe a main, it might warm up the motor and ESC, however. But it should run a long time. I may not have time between the quals to adjust the ESC out of blinky into something else. There are two buttons on the Tekin ESC which can adjust things such as the throttle profiles from mild to aggressive. I can only guess that this may be the way to change from blinky to mod if there is enough time between quals. But I don't understand the buttons and LEDs on the ESC and how to switch from blinky to whatever mod mode is best for Mod. Maybe consider another battery company? But is this concept valid of using a large "C" battery? TakeAim |
Some of the many threads discussing that battery. They even have some test data. Short answer is no, no, and no. Independent testing routinely indicates mediocre at best performance.

Might get a quicker response there. http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...s-offroad.html |
