Default 6v Reciever pack question

Hi.
My names Anthony, im new to the forum and would just like to ask a question about my 6 v reciever pack charger.
I have a Venom Hump pack 6v 1200
I went to the local hobby shop to get a charger and he gave me a charger that chargers at 8.7v is that to much to charge my battery?
Is it going to cook it?
Maybe he gave me the wrong charger?
Any help would be appreciated

It's not the voltage but rather the amperage that's important. You're fine. Normally you don't charge those 2/3A packs with more than 1 amp and your charging voltage needs to be higher than your target's voltage for it to charge.

yes it the mah to watch out for is it just a fast charge or what cause 350 is fast charging that 1200 battery or can you adjust it you self cause a slow charge would be 120 mah for an overnight charge. which it what i would do for the pack most of the time unless at the track.
