Default servo voltage and reliability in the long term

Hello,

I just bought a savox 1258tg which can handle up to 7,4v. Will it hold up better in the long term if I use it with a lower voltage or is it completely safe to push it up to 7,4v? I have a 10a castle bec and a RX8 speedo

If the servo manufacturer quotes 7.4v then its safe to assume it will handle it without effecting its lifespan

Lowering the voltage will lower the speed and torque

Cheers

though it can handle 7.4V..the 1258 is rated at 6V max(specs).... just connect it to your rx8..it has a 6V/5A BEC.. it can handle your savox...

Agreed. 7.4v Tolerant is not the same as 7.4v Rated.
