Sounds like the profile yours came with has boost or turbo and that is why it is behaving that way. Try another profile and see if it does the same thing. If all else fails find someone with a box and look at the settings.

Sounds like your running boost. You can turn it off through settings. The box is easiest. I have one see you Saturday.

Thanks guys i'll look into the settings, but as i said i didnt add any boost or timing. It just doesnt seem as smooth as my other 2. i wonder if its a problem with the sensor wire or port

If it was a sensor issue, the light flashes after repetative full throttle pulls. If it flashes, first change the sensor wire, retest. If still, then change the motor. If still, its within the speedo. My money is on a bad sensor in the motor. It's happened to me.

I posted a version of this question in the Tekin thread last week, but now that I've done some more investigating I think it's more appropriate here....

Basically I'm trying to figure out why my Orion R10 seems to have much less braking power than my Tekin RS. I've run both ESCs in my 22T using a RevTech 10.5T motor. The Tekin will pretty much stop on a dime and I'm only using ~75% of its braking power. The R10, on the other hand, doesn't give me that 'lock the wheels' kind of power. I end up running 100% braking power and 20% drag brake and that gives me what I need for 99% of racing, but I still feel like I'm missing something.

Any ideas? Is the R10 just built with a milder braking profile? Am I doing something wrong perhaps?

Guys, is there ANY way to update the firmware and/or program the R10 Pro (2-3S) esc via-USB, without having to buy the dam $70 Orion Programmer...? Ughh, you'd think after spending $220 on the 'top of the line' ESC, that they'd include a micro USB or something, to interface with your PC or even an App or something.. Dang.

Re set your radio. Make sure you set your throttle epa and brake epa to 100%
no higher.

What software goes with what?

I'm struggling with understanding the software in this thing. I understand that the PC needs software, the box needs software, and the ESC needs software, but i'm not sensing that's what i'm seeing here. You would think that the softare would bundle together with the same verion, but instead i have:

Orion USB Link Version: 1.68
Software Version: V3.0_110728Stock
Choice Version: V3.0_111208Stock
Database Version: 120414

The programing box says: V1.08_110513

I recently "upgraded" from 1.66 to 1.68, but the only thing that changed was the Database Version, which doesn't seem to affect any files loading anywhere.

Need help understanding what goes with what.

IIRC the latest version had a fix for those who had issues getting their R10s to connect to the program box.

It would be SO easy if they did that and just sold the USB cable. All my other speed controls can be done this way. Why not Orion? Maybe a letter writing campain?
