1) The additional channels are controlled by the stock buttons?( trim buttons etc) or are more buttons physically added to the radio??
2)Are the additional channels 2 or 3 position? When You assign one button to control it, it will change between -100 and 100. If You use digital trim to control it, arbitrary value between -100 and 100 can be set by clicking those buttons. And there are much more settable possibilities. 3) can a pontentiometer be added to any of the channels? 4) how many models can be controlled? I have seen 14 and 40 mentioned? 5) the website mention a trade off of channels vs number of models- so what are the trade off specs?ie 8 channels have 10 model memory? 6 channels has 14 model memory? 6) will the radio come with additional programming instructions or is there a PDF link for instructions on the website? http://www.rctech.net/forum/9935672-post2986.html |
any one having issues with the GT3B not working properly with VRC? i went into setting and set everything up for it just its not working,,the trim seems to be off,, i calibrated it and same issue,,,btw the trim setting on the controller dont do anything in game.

Heh ok, looks like ill be flashing this puppy then. ;)
I need a momentary switch for my FPV trucks claxon. Thanks! |
I borrowed my buddies hacked GT3b yesterday to try it out and ran into a problem. I ran it one time, worked great. I broke the truck I had the receiver in, so I popped it out and put it in my buggy. I needed to reverse the servo so I pushed down the selector knob to access the menus. All it di was coonstantly swap between Model and Name. No matter what I did, it wouldn't do anything else. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance! |

Oh! I see what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!

Ok, been trying to figure this out for hours. I have a snapped board at this point and no luck. Have tried everything I can find but I cant get past swim error when trying to flash. The radio light turns off so I know that there is some kind of communication going on but it errors no matter what I do... Any suggestions?

Got it, sometimes you just have to walk away for a couple of hours :). 2 bad cables, who would have thought...

Any programers going to be at Trackside for the Showdown this weekend?? I would like to get reprogramed if possible.
Thanks Mark |
Well found a way to get rid of using double AA battery and use a lipo for longer run time and lighter weight on the radio.

Who does the reprogramming now in CA? Mattyhawk link is dead. Anyone use the service before?

Clock frequency of mod firm.
I read mod firmware and found this source provides non divided external clock source 18.432MHz exceed device specification of 16.0MHz.
Is it correct? However, IMO, small OC such like this should have none of problem. |
Anyone have the original firmware for the radio? or how do i download it out of the radio?

I am also having issues with the custom firmware, I have the GT3B-0.61 firmware, I am trying to get the steering to both have the 150% end point, however I can only select the end point for steering right. It's in channel 1 and esc is in channel 2. Can anyone help me!! Thanks! |

I believe you can download it from the Radio by going to Read, Current Tab, and then saving the file, however this didn't work for me, I have someone elses original firmware though, here you go.\

Here is a link to a post that has a very user friendly manual for the GT3B/C hacks.

So for your guys/gals that have this radio...
1. How is it with out the mods for regular racing? 2. For those modded how is now for racing? I am on the fence for this radio but do i need it modded for regular use? Thanx! |
Just flashed to 0.6.1 and now the I have some glitching on channel one (steering). Once in a while the steering servo will move then return to center when there is no steering input (even set the radio down and it happened while the radio was sitting on a table). Never had glitching issues with stock firmware.
Trouble shooting steps taken: Rebound the Rx and TX Changed the number of channels from 3 to 2 Recalibrated the Tx New Battries Changed Servo Added/Removed Glitch Buster Changed to 0.5.0_3Channel and no glitching after an hour with the TX sitting on a table Would appericate any trouble shooting tips. |
Li Po Alarm ????
Hi.
Need some advice please. I bought a hacked 3GTB of e bay. Not sure who did it but did say it wasn't worth doing anymore as it took too much time for the money he gets back. While I have all the mods that i wanted like 72 model memory. One thing that I can't do is find a source to plug in my li po alarm. The switch is the obvious place to tap in but I can't access the wires that go into the switch. Other wires i checked with a volt meter arent 12v so I cant tap into them. Very frustrating as I just lost another li po battery from leaving it on. My fault but if the buzzer was connected this would have saved my li po. Any advice would be much appreciated. I did ask on the 3GTB thread with no response!!!! |
On a GT3B with firmware 0.6.1 you can set the low voltage alarm and the inactivity alarms to what ever you like in the global menu. No need for a buzzer. Global menu also tells you your firmware version.

Firmware 3B vs 3C
Is the firmware the same for the 3B and the 3C? I am having trouble generating a custom firmware using my stock firmware.
Thanks, Marten Davis |
hey,
Am just wondering if anyone could clarify how the hacked GT3b failsafes? Can it be programmed or does the receiver just stop outputting signals? Cheers Dan |

You set it at the receiver for the throttle channel. Doesn't matter if the radio is hacked or not. Works well.

programing
is there any way to get just a backlight, low voltage setting, inactivity alarm, and a latency, and a 3rd dig or 4wheel steer program??? i don't think i need all the rest, i'm not very good at programing this

Hi all ya hack phreeks heehee I was jw if it is in anyway possible to make another receiver (other than the flysky ones) to bind to the radio, in particular, I have a bunch of the associated xp receivers! Thanks:)

well since no response i just bought another gt3b did regulator and bearing mod but i wont hack it can't figure out how to get end points and some other things to work properly :flaming:
|
So im trying to put together an order on Digi-key or mouser for the parts to do the hack mod's and im having a hard time finding the correct pin header to install on the radio.
Im looking for a right angle 4 pin molex header with 1mm pitch correct? i keep coming up with 2.54mm pitch stuff |
This is great!! I can't wait to get started.

Here is just the 4 pin header that i include with my gt3b kits http://overkillrc.3dcartstores.com/G...ader_p_15.html |
So i got my mouser order today, I did the Voltage regulator mod already and it works. I then proceeded to try and reprogram the radio, this is when it went downhill lol
Started by soldering a 4 pin plug onto the radio pcb Desoldered the Sb1 - Sb2 points Hooked up the stm8s to pc, Installed stvp from overkill rc's link (running windows 7 btw) I was getting stvp stopped working crashes, So i then found the link to the patch for stvp. after i got that installed, i no longer got crashes trying to read the radio, but now i was getting cannot read swim error. I also tried doing what losi kid had suggested procedure after i snapped the stm8s in half. here I have tried this on 2 systems, Windows 7 and on another computer running windows XP. I've tried normal stm8s board, snapped board, 2 different female molex cables. different usb ports, powered by thd stm8s, powered by the batteries. I checked my solder joints to the pin header and all are nice, neat and clean. Using a 3 pin cable, using a 4 pin cable, flipping the cables every which way. I'm at a lose here and have been messing with this for the last 4 hours trying to get it to work, any help would be appreciated |

MAKE sure you follow those steps i posted to the T. Start out fresh, make sure stvp is closed out. Plug in the radio BEFORE opening stvp. I don't have enough experience with the broken board to help you beyond that. |
