Personal Lap counting systems.

Hey guys just after some help on personal lap counting systems.Im just after one that myself and my mate can use when we are practicing.The ones i have found atm only use 1 transponder but im wanting to be able to expand the amount i use.I dont wanna spend thousands and buy one like amb.Max to spend would be $550 landed.

Need main system, an overhead or two and some transponders. $165Cad + shipping for bare minimum setup.
IR based, but everything in your price range will be perhap minus the Kyosho core system. That said this system is used at 1/8 offroad tracks... should be more than adequate for personal use

I'm a bit surprised finding lap timing systems for this hobby is scarce. there are a lot of these infrared systems for motorcycles/kart racing that would work great for the rc cars if the reciever was smaller. and the cool part is the beacon/transmitters are only $55

I'm sure this has been ask many times over but my searching hasn't turned up much. Anyone know of a cheap personal lap counter/timing system? I saw several post mention a Team Orion personal lap counter but can't find info on it.

I had this system a few years ago when I was running I ran a Spektrum module in my Futaba 3PK.
You would need to research it to make sure what you would need in the area of radio, but I was happy with it.
