Im thinking of getting a new radio and I like the 3pks. Should I go for it or get the 4pks. Is it that much better?
|
I been thinking the same, and ended up keeping my 3PK.
Great radio and you can get them cheap now. I just upgraded it with the Spektrum HRS module in mine along with 4 receivers. Now, all i have to do is wait for the digital servos! Use them in my race cars and use normal Spektrum DSM in the other cars. Great radio and i won't get the 4PK just yet... This does all you ever want it to do and more! |
i bought the 4pks primarily because of the extended range that it offers for high speed runs.

I just purchased the 3pks have lurked around on this page alot and decided to register and thank everyone this thread had a wealth of information that persuaded me into my purchase will be here Tuesday I'm excited :)

Is it with FASST or other 2.4 ghz system?
I just upgraded mine with Spektrum HRS and use digital servos in all cars. Bought 4 extra receivers too.... |
I bought new with the FASST reciever

is there a way to set up the thumbwheel dual rates to throttle? I've been tinkering with it and I can't figure it out.

Ok I got a problem and need some help from you more experienced 3pk owners. I recently purchased a used 3pk online. It's not the newer version. It has the drop down on it and I'm using PCM receivers. It turns more to the right than to the left. I can't figure it out. It strains my servos on the right side. How can I fix this? I'm just getting back into the hobby after a few years and I'm a virgin when it comes to this radio. Please help. Thanks in advance.

You need to adjust your EPA-settings. Consult your manual on how to do this. I don't remember it from my memory as there are so many different settings on the radio:) And i don't have the manual here at hand at the moment.

i just figured it out. the wheel isnt centering. it stays to the left a little. if i move it to the right when the screw holding the steering wheel is off it centers. when im using the radio and the wheel is screwed on it stays off-center. |
Ok, so it is anything in or around the steeringwheel binding then? I have never used the drop down on my radio, but i see what you are thinking.

Radio's are 1 thing ive leaned Not to Buy Used. ;)
On to the issue, Unscrew the steering wheel and make sure the bearing's aren't all dirty. Look at the back side of the steering wheels and ensure there's nothing been rubbing on the back side to cause the binding you are feeling. You can go as far as to remove the drop down portion but be careful of what your doing. IF you dont feel comfortable doing this then i would suggest you take it to a LHS or a Local buddy who knows thing's like this. Much better to bow down and let the experts handle it Vs trying yourself and messing thing's up. |
the servo may have been recalibrated in the radio 'servo' menu setting, I would 'reset' the model and start over
|
i sort of figured it out last night. it had an aftermarket steering wheel on it. i removed that and put the original one back on and now its fine. working perfect. not sure how this caused the problem but it did. thanks for all the input guys.

Nice to hear you got it sorted:) So now you got the same throw to both sides when you turn your steering?
