So I own a 17.5 Novak Ballistic motor that I run stock class at the local races. Since I won't be racing for the summer, I would like to get something faster for my bashing. Can I just replace the Stator in it to say a 8.5 without changing anything else?

Thats all I did with my 10.5

Yup, all you need to do is swap the stator, everything else remains the same.
