Default 1/8 scale battery size Question

I have an 1/8 scale truggy and my ESC can handle up to a 4cell-14.8v lipo. What is the difference in using 5000mah and a 3000mah. is there a power difference??

Bigger mah = longer run time...

Battery choice should be determined by the motor

Your motor will have a continuous current rating

Example
100 Amp motor

Pack 1 - 5000mah 20c pack = capable of delivering 100 amps
Pack 2 - 5000mah 40c pack = capable of delivering 200 amps

Pack 2 is a better choice as 1 is close to its limit

Generally speaking higher mah = longer runtime as long as the packs can keep up with the motor

Cheers

If both 5000 and 3000mah have the same C rating, there shouldn't be a power difference. The 5000 will provide longer run time.

Its not really that simple though as the motor is what drives the amp demand in a setup.
