Its really all just brand snobbery, exact same comments used to be made about the Hobbywings esc's etc etc etc, unless they were the MuchMore or Speedpassion rebrands, they were somehow OK

I have had both GT2 & Specktrum DX3s.
GT2 works just as well , transmitter has less functions, thats all.
GT2 does cause some interference in some Spektrums, mine for example
THE FAULT IS THE SPEKTRUMS DESIGN, not the GT2.
No other brand is affected. DSM/DSM2 is old tech & cannot cope with a crowded 2.4G radio spektrum.

for example
http://www.rctech.net/forum/8723206-post739.html

Have a look at the forums where people who know what they are talking about(radio techs) criticize the Spektrums .

Of course a $300 radio will be better than a $20 radio, that doesnt mean the $20 radio is junk.
If you guys are happy to be ripped off on the price of receivers, then I guess thats OK .

I can confirm the interference issue. Not every Spektrum RX is affected. Mine is but only some of my cars/rx's . Also not by every HK2/GT2 (there are several at our club)
Unfortunately its my friends radio 'causing' the issue, its literally all he can afford.

The Flysky radios have automatic frequency hopping, my understanding is Spektrum does not, but they are going to it, so that may fix the issues mentioned.

In the March 2011 issue of RC DRiver (pages 94-98) it looks like the GT2 radio comes with the Exceed Dynamite RTR. "but the 2.4GHz radio system and brushless motor are what makes this a really killer package."

I think of it as a RTR am/fm replacement. Read through the GT3B thread. It has lots of people that seem to like them and some are using it to race.

For the $20 price I don't know if I could have found a used am to put in my old RC10 to get running again. I am not expecting a race quality radio for 1/10 the price, just something that works.

What would be "crowded", 10 radios or a 100?

Thumbs up FS GT-2

I've got one and I "thought" I had issues with the steering (not enuf throw). Turns out it was the 3rd dial on the controller that I needed to adjust. LOL

I think the only issue this radio really has is not having a proper manual. Got everything figured out on here though.

Spektrum radios however, do have frequency issues.
There is this area in a parking lot near where I live, where NO Spektrum radios work. Its so weird that once you cross over this line (in the parking lot) Spektrums stop working. I've only noticed this with Spektrum nothing else - it was a guy flying a rc-heli with the spektrum system.

My traxxas Link works fine, so does the XP3-SS and the MX3-FG and of course the FS GT-2.
We have ruled out interference from our radios, but we don't know if its maybe something else in the facility that is causing the issue.

If you are happy with the radio ,thats great .But i have seen more people have troubles with those radios and a lot like them after owning them for a short period of time.Recievers going bad and binding issues is what i see most of.Again if your are happy ,thats all that matters.I will stick with my $100 trouble free Airtronics anytime.

Having used a GT2 and a GT3B with over 20 receivers (at US$ 5,- a steal) for over 6 months now, I can assure they work flawlessly. And you had a bad shameless overpriced spektrum receiver to replace after a few days, that's what I call real JUNK. Perhaps HobbyKing has nothing to replace because the FlySky receivers are no JUNK? Do you sometimes read the JUNK you write before posting???

Damn I just got a DX3E and then read this bad stuff about spektrums here I hope mine will be ok.

Cheapest radio I`ve raced is HPI 27mhz am radio from a rtr. Worked flawlessly through the nitro finals.

I wouldn't worry, the odds of having problem are almost no existant. Unless you race with the guys in this thread
