I ran the stock lead up to 50 amps I think and it did ok. But at 20C the cell tab is 180 de F and at 24 C the tabs are 200 deg F. The cells themselves are over 140. Consider this a 20C pack to be fair.

I also have this problem on one of the two packs I bought. I haven't been able to re-create it in the pits but while out on the track it will stop, a marshal will pick up the car then it suddenly starts working again...aaaaand then it stops.

Contacted Gens Ace and Hobbypartz.... A known problem from what I hear, and no reponse from either nice?.......Now both batteries are shot, dissapointed to say the least in the customer service.... If both my batteries are shot after 2 charges there is a problem with them.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the same issue in my DMT VE. Power would randomly cut out.

I narrowed it down to the crappy 4mm male bullets on the supplied connector. The rotating type bullet connectors (I'd guess any manufacturer) are no good because the contact patch is limited to the ends of the bullet only. I switched to Castle's 4mm bullet which don't use the expanded fingers or arcs and I have had no problems since then and my truck has even more punch now.

In sum: use this type of bullet instead of this type.

I won't be buying these packs again. I bought a couple packs for a project and didn't try them for a month. When I finally did neither pack will charge and now I am stuck with them. If I would have known the customer service was this bad I would have saved some money and just bought Turnigy packs.

What did you use to cut it open, I was afraid to do this and puncture one of the cells while cutting.

my gens ace 2s 40c 5000mah battery died tonight. its not the kind that has the bullet plugs connectors. was driving my rustler and it just stopped moving. i tried the battery on another esc just to make sure it wasnt the esc on the rustler, but still no power. tried another battery and it powered right up. i sent a support request through their eticket process to hobbypartz, hope they can get this squared away. this battery less than a month old

What kind of plug are you using? Maybe there is a bad connection at the plug. Does your charger sense it? Did you get a voltage off the balance plug? If not then yes the battery is toast, an internal problem. Atleast they have to 50C is stock for less than $40.
