I want to do this Mod to my Helios, but I don't think I will be keeping it. I need 3 channel capability with mixing, and the radio doesn't have it. I called Ko and asked if they could put a channel radio firmware on my radio, but they said no.. Does the Eurus have ppm out and the module is 2.4? hmmmmmmmm

Don't know if it has mixing... don't they sell cheap radios that do that on rc4wd.com?

Eurus has channel mixing, just wondering if it has the same setup as the helios.
I race Monster trucks (Clods) and the cheap radios don't offer some things I need. I am always looking for it to be the cheapest as possible, but I guess if I did anything with a new radio, I would get the Spektrum DX4S. A friend has one, and it has everything I am looking for..

check out RC4WD.COM I think they have cheap 2.4 radios made especially for what you need.

I looked at those in the past. When it comes to a clod, and setting it up for racing, you need to have servo epa as high as possible. The Helios goes up to 150, most radios only do 120, that is a huge difference. Ill try and get the Eurus cheap somewhere, or make the move to DX4S..

Default New questions about radio hack

There are about 5 different kit or module based 2.4 conversions for ppm output radios. I'm finding that there are some Spectrum modules that have turned up on Ebay. I have 2 Airtronics M8 modules that I would like to use on my KO EX1 radio. I can shove the module into the radio but have no response. Does anybody have the pinouts for the M8 verses the KO? I would love to be able to just swap 2 pins on the module and get it to work on my KO. Also, there is an orange dsmx and dsm2 module for futaba that comes with a receiver for under 50 dollars. Can that be converted to work on my KO? Thanks in advance.

I don't think the module will work in the ko ground radio, the pins are in the corner, and the the ko are in the middle. I think this was for the air radios.

I would find a module case (empty) and put the FrSky diy kit in the there. Should fit from everything I have seen.

That should not matter there are a few types of modules that the pins don't line up you just hard wire them in.

I just wanted to use the spectrum DSM2 hobbyking receivers I think that is a much better system than the flysky stuff.
