Just want to thank you for this. Found my mars from years ago and just completed the conversion. Just be careful if trimming the board down on the side you solder the wires. I took a little too much off andd had to solder a jumper wire in. Otherwise cheap 2.4g setup.

Default Burn 12K resistor

Hi I'm from Indonesia, I've been use this mod for couple of years on my ko propo mars and it's work great. But now my throtlle and steering signal is dead, the module bind to the receiver but there is no signal received on the servo and esc. I try to use the fm module and rx and have the same problem. So i open the flysky module and it turns out the 12K resistor was burn out. So I guest the voltage bypass to the ppm. Now I have ex1 ur and I have a plan to doing this mod again, but I'm afraid the same thing will happen again. Has anyone ever experienced the same thing or is there any explanation why the 12K resistor burn out?

I am going to do this on my mars radio. I am going to buy this. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/orangerx...ompatible.html

I assume this will be just a matter of opening it up.. making sure I have the pinout correct - a matter of re-routing 2 pinouts. The module should just plug right in.

Anyone reading.. YES? no? any comments ? Ideas?

I would not. KO is a high end brand and putting something like that into such a nice radio is not something I would do. If your old radio still works well with the FM stuff I would stick with that. The HobbyKing stuff tends to do funny stuff as it ages. Usually about a year.

Honestly your best bet is a used Futaba or Airtronics transmitter that is second hand. You have to check the for sale section or Facebook frequently, and be ready to buy the second you see the one you want.

I hear ya urnotevenwrg2, I have the original DSM module for the KO propo Mars. It works fine as far as I am concerned. The nice thing about doing it with the this module is that I make no modifications to the radio itself. Just the module. So if I want to use the FM module, I can, if I want to use the Spektrum DSM1 module I can..

I just keep reading how much faster DSM2 is over DSM1 and I thought for $35 why not try it, and besides I am a hacker type guy - been using a soldering gun since I was 6. I DO love my MARS.. and would never do anything to hack it up.
