I just tested mine at an RC4 track, and it works great. The reason for me is they're $4 cheaper than the 3-wire but work as a hybrid. So, thy are actually quite a good deal.

More like a $30 saving, since it works just like the RC4 Hybrid.

I agree 100% - I have seen very frustrated racers when PTs dont work at certain tracks.

My personal experience (and several others at our track) is poor with the 3-wire transponders. There are a number of times that they work intermittently, whereas the old ones work just fine.

I've already used some of the "New System" MRT transponders with my club's RC4 decoder and they work fine. Terry made these from a reading off an AMB I sent him back in 2009 so I have three the same number. That's why I went to the MRTs to begin with: not for money saving, but for identical numbers for multiple transponders. AMB did not do that until the RC4s came out.
