I have a question guys,

I have a Nosram Pearl Evolution 2, and will be running blink stock in 2wd off road.

Will this be exactly the same profile as running blink in a stock spec speedo?

Or do I need to get a stock spec to be competitive?

There should be no difference between the two. Blinky mode operates the same in both SCs.

This is a long shot but here goes. I know that nosram and lrp have almost the same components. But there is a software update in the nosram website about the pearl v2 series. Will there be any improvement as far as speed is concerned if i will update the software for me stock spec esc? Have any of you guys tried this new software with your lrp stock esc's?

What is the difference between:
- LRP SXX Stock Spec "Version 2" Competition Brushless Speed Control w/MK III Firmware
and
- LRP SXX TC-Spec "Version 2" Competition Brushless ESC

The Stock Spec has more aggressive throttle and boost profiles, aimed at stock racing. The TC Spec has smoother throttle profiles, and milder boost profiles, that are better for mod racing.

With 17.5 running in Blinky mode.... Does it really matter to have the Stock Spec? Just asking....

I would rather have the Stock Spec for the drag brake. The drag brake values are different on the 2 esc's. I had to run 10 on my TC Spec in 17.5 blinky, and I run 7 on my Stock Spec. So you have a wider range of drag brake values with the Stock Spec.

Many thanks... I would perfer to have one Speedo that covers it all, but I think that is out of the question with today's setups....

Default v4.4

Is there a new manual for the 4.4 firmware like the other firmwares that lrp came out with? The reason I ask this I bought a new stockspec V2 in february, and it will not connect with my USB bridge! (I have tried multiple sensor cables and have double checked those cables on my tc spec v2 and it connects everytime) I have talked to LRP in california and they led me to assume I already have the 4.4 firmware installed. So my question in does the 4.4 firmware only have 10 settings in mode 3 instead of 12 as shown in the original manual?

Sounds that you have got a SXX SS V1. The V2 speedo always has 12 profiles in mode 3.
You could do the following, to prove that it's a V1. Set Mode 2 to anything from 1 to 10 (i believe the V1 doesn't have a 0 setting at Mode 2) and Mode 3 to 0. If the speedo does the Zero Boost blue led flashing in neutral then it's a V1. With the V2 speedo Mode 2 and 3 have to be set to 0 to get the Zero Boost LED flashing.

The esc was purchased new from tower hobbies, and also has version 2 right on the heatsink. So does 4.4 firmware have a seperate manual? and yes the blue led blinks in neutral when mode 3 is set to 0 regardless of where mode 2 is set.
