Tekin Hotwire programming guide?

Hello,

looked everywhere and can't find it. Is there a guide actually?

I've bought their Hotwire and they don't even explain how to set it up...

No , there is no guide . It is pretty easy once you go through everything and see how it works . Which software version do you have ?

Looks easy for the general variables, but as soon as you want to fine tune your ESC (that's why they sell the hotwire), it's getting more tricky.. To me it isn't intuitive at all compared to a castle link for example.

I would like to have detailed explanations on each parameter to tune my RX8 right for my needs. Just an example: throttle profiles. C1 etc.. I've no idea what that means..

IMO there should be a manual. Tekin products aren't in the low range of prices so they could do this little effort for their clients.

I have the latest version (212 I think).

It's appears harder than it really is, like all things once you go through it and realize what each setting is, it gets easy..

And how am I supposed to realize what each setting is? Do I have to put a setting, run the car, stop, open the receiver, connect everything to a PC, change the same settings, try again to understand what it does? Every time, for each setting?

I'd rather know from the beginning on what the setting plays, put a value that looks ok for me and change the setting only if I'm not happy with it..

I felt the same way the first time I ran the Hotwire, so I went into it slowly and figureed it out. If you have the program open, and right click on the scale, it will explain the options somewhat. You are correct, thinking a manual would be nice, but sometimes the hands on approach is the only way I can learn things..

Usually what I do to find baseline setup or even a final is look @ the Tekin site here:http://www.teamtekin.com/hotwire/ESCsetups/index.html
Then as you need more of this or that, you can dabble with the hotwire until you feel comfortable with it, and what each setting change feels like..There are alot of people who dont like programmable ecs, because they are more work, but to me, once you set the car on the track, you have to do less with the radio.

What settings do you not understand? I can try to answer them.

As far as throttle profile. There are 7. 5 are preset and 2 are custom. 1 being the least aggressive(no timing) and 5 being the most aggressive. When you go into the custom 1 and 2, you can fine tune the setting as you like. Also, when you save them, they will stay as is in that profile. So you can save your settings in profile 1 for a certain track then save settings in 2 for another track.

There is a nice brief walk through posted by Randy. I will see if I can find it.

i agree with you. even the set ups dont EXPLAIN what ALL the settings do. like the back of a losi manual. change this and this will happen kind of stuff.

Thanks for the help :), I'll try to figure it out.

All your messages show a manual is necessary, I'm really surprised Tekin didn't even think about it. What are they waiting?

329$ for a Tekin RX8/T8 combo, 35$ the hotwire and no manual... This is a joke, seriously.

Just found this on the web, quite helpful even if it's for the RS Pro. I think it might be the same for the RX8:

No joke at all. The hotwire software changes and is a fluid option.

We support all our products up front and personal. We had a link up to a "how to" guide but I see it's been removed, on accident of course.

If you have specific questions please ask away.

I'll get the web guys to post up the document.

Thank you, I find the hotwire program gives the basic function of each tab. I hear guys talk about moveing the RPM boost range to get more bottom end. It would be nice of Tekin to publish something like the guys above mention really fine tuning the ESC. Really explaining when to use certain features like boost and turbo.

+1000, I'm not the only one to complain about the lack of information ;)

Randy -> thanks for your help but I can't take you with me at the track  , so a manual/document/whatever that explains in detail what parameter does what would still be a good thing IMO

Would be awesome to have the document you're talking about back on the web again:)

Hi Randy, Marry Christmas,I have a quick question I have an fx how do i save the setting from the hot wire to the speed controller?

Thanks Ron

The hot-wire is only getting ether and better. Idk if manual would donut justice since there has been such an upgrade from when it first came out, if anything it would probably confuse you a little bit more?
