I only race, and am very conscientious of temps and voltage. I also monitor run times....

sensor wire?

Used the same sensor wire too when I switched the esc.
It is really weird, just keeps on restarting.....

Try this: Recalibrate the esc to your TX. (never hurts...) Then hook up the pro-guage and reload the profile and settings you choose to run. Had the same thing happen in the past and this cured my issue. also, double check all solder joints.

Good luck and keep us informed.

I can't get my new Airtronics MT-4 to calibrate with a VTX10. It worked fine with a Spektrum. I have it narrowed down to the esc not calibrating like I expect it, it's not going through the steps the instructions say should occur.

I press the button to turn the esc on for three seconds, and the thing beeps and lights up the lights the instructions say should...and that's as far as I can get anything to go. I pull throttle for one second, but no response from the esc. I pull the throttle for three seconds, and the same.

The ratio is all set to 100% epa and the like.

The MT-4 with a Tekin fired up just fine.

FLHX1550 do you know if I can add timing just in the upper rpms to add speed for the long strait at my track? Im going to the track tonight be nice to try something out. VTX10 with the 8.5 I like my gearing where its at now for 90% of the track.

Direct from Viper about adding top speed timing:

"We need to use TOP SPEED TIMING with ACCELERATION BOOST. However, you could use ACCELERATION BOOST alone.

Some more info for the team according to recent development testing with Josh Cyrul:

1. ACCELERATION BOOST could be used alone.
2. TOP SPEED TIMING must to use in conjunction with ACCELERATION BOOST
3. When use TOP SPEED TIMING, the value MUST be smaller than ACCELERATION TIMING (we found to set TOP SPEED TIMING at 1/2 of ACCELERATION BOOST provided the best performance/ efficiency ratio)

For TOP SPEED TIMING to engage properly with expected performance, it needs the motor to be at a "ready" status. The "ready" status was the ACCELERATION BOOST to provide the additional torque before the motor could utilize the TOP SPEED TIMING."

Hope this helps.

Found post 3426:

"The newer ESC's are coming with A30 firmware, which has a different calibration procedure than those prior.

1 - Turn on radio, 0% expo, 100 EPA on Throttle and Brake
2 - Plug in a battery, make sure motor and sensor wire are connected
3 - Hold down the power button on the VTX until you hear the "chime" (you should get a solid F and R light)
4 - Pull trigger to full throttle and push the button on the VTX
5 - Full brake and push the button on the VTX
6 - Return to neutral and the VTX will finish the calibration
7 - Power down and turn back on and you should be good to go.

A30 Instructions can be found on the Viper Website here: http://www.viper-rc.com/pclink/updat...manual_A30.pdf"

The esc shipped with old instructions? Are you kidding me? Whatevs, I do love the esc.

that is very helpful. never new to set the top speed to 1/2 the acceleration boost

I tried recalibration, but the ESC wouldnt let me, as soon as I turn on the remote the esc restarts....

I'm gonna go over every possibility here in a little bit...

Make sure the remote is on before turning on the esc. Then push and hold the button until it beeps. then hold full throttle and push button, after beep, hold full brake and push button. After beep, esc reboots and you are set.

If, instead of recalibrating, you can see the lights on the switch are going to green when applying throttle, and red when applying brake, then you are probably OK to hold the button for a second or two and hook up the pro-gauge to resave your profile settings.

There is no beep after you press button for full brake

When you had your radio set up with the Tekin, did you have to reverse the direction of any channels? I have the 4PK, and have the throttle channel reversed to work with my Tekin RS. You need to not only set the EPA's to 100%, but also set all the channel directions to normal. If it does not calibrate in normal try reversed.

In other words if you have the throttle channel reversed, when you set up a new ESC and pull the trigger, the new ESC might see it as brake and not calibrate.

Reverse your throttle channel and try again.... Please.

I rechecked everything and recalibrated the ESC and reciever. Still no go. It just keeps on restarting. I noticed that sometimes before it cycles through the restart, if I give it throttle, it gives a little chug, and then restarts. Also, it is getting a little warm.... and more ideas?

I've got the VTX10 and the MT-4. My throttle channel is set to normal (NOR).
