Would a model 1290mg servo with only 69 oz-in of torque work for an on road car? I mention this because it is so fast, at .05 sec at 6 volts. Your steering would be extremely responsive. Would it have enough torque?

bjholz 12-16-2010 03:45 AM

Why not just get the 1257? .07s at 6V at like 160 oz

Rufus2010 12-16-2010 11:03 AM

The 1257 is 138 oz. I am thinking that for some carpet racing cars, that is more torgue than needed. If that is the case, then is 69 oz enough? If it is, why not get the extra responsiveness for turning? The 1290 is about 25% faster, that is a lot.

So my question is: For some drivers, in some classes, would the 1290 be a better choice?

no its not the best because when your tc is moving very fast and puts alot of load when turning making the servo work even harder and .07 is more then what you need in a tc car most of the time you will turn down your servo

i have used both servo and to me and anyone around me that use savox in there tc we all use 1257

the 1290 is great for pan style cars
1257 is the best servo i ever used in a tc

It's nice to know there is another good alternative out there. I will eventually need replacements for my RTRs. I was looking at Futabas or Tower Hobbies if I went the cheap way.

I know I won't touch Hitecs. I've owned one and it was dead from the factory. The replacement one is the noisiest, glitchiest servo I've ever owned. It's far worse than the RTR servo that was in there from Losi.

.07s at 6.0V...2s lipos are 7.4 volts...that would bring it to like .05s. Have you ever seen a .05s servo? Its beyond redic fast.

Would this be enough servo for 2wd off road buggy? Thinking of a low profile servo for the TLR 22 to create more room up front in the buggy.

Which one?

Sorry, the sc-1251 with 125 oz at 6 volts and 97 at 4.8 volts.

scurran 12-18-2010 10:07 AM

the trade in sale they have going on is great. saved 40 bucks on 2 digital hv servo's. i race on a budget and till now never owned a digital servo. if not for great companys selling great product for less than everyone else and then puting on killer sales i could not race and stay competitive. from a under funded non sponsored(helped) racer THANKS A MILL....
