Default Battery Seems Flat

Tonight when I was racing, my 5000mah Lipo's seemed really flatfor the first minute or two of my race. I have a Tekin RS ESC, which is brand new. The top speed was terrible, but then like mid race, It seemed as if the ESC settings kicked in, or the battery warmed up or something. I have no Idea. Both of my battery packs were doing this. Have you ever heard of something like this? Like I said, mid race, the car started to run like a bat out of hell, which is how I have it set up. Battery issue? Esc issue?

Lipo performance dropps off at temps below 70F, sounds like it was just temp.

How cold was it?

It was about 70 degrees. And I raced it like 20 min after charging. The difference should not be THAT noticeable would it?

Nope, temp would need to be colder than that, like 50F. Sounds like it may be something with the esc or esc settings.

I don't understand why it would just change like that mid race though

When i got my rc18t from sneako on here his ESC would do some weird throttle problem. It'd act as if i still had my finger on the throttle for another second even though i took it off. I changed my esc, problem goes away. Chances are your either your esc isn't allowing voltage to flow through good for some reason or your connectors may be slightly loose. With problems like this it could be the stupidest of things, so don't throw out the stupid things until you've tested them to make sure it isn't that.

Hope this helps you.

Wild guess, try turning up the throttle endpoint on your radio some if you can. I've heard of situations where the full throttle drifts a little, then you do/don't get the boost/turbo/whatever to kick in. Could be the heat after running a while changes things???

Or a dodgy connection somewhere as already mentioned, that again heat is affecting? What if you switch batteries quickly after it starts rippin', that might eliminate the battery (which I don't think it is).

I am going to try to mess with it next tuesday, raceday. I think I have it WAY over timed. Heat is not usually a problem. I check it reqularly. I have the blue wire on the sensor wire cut, so the motor won't thermal during a race. That should not affect it, would it?
