Futaba was showing off their new 4PL radio system at IHobby. It’s a 4-channel, 2.4 GHz radio aimed at the budget market. Like the other radios in the PL line it is based on Futaba’s FHSS technology, so it is not compatible with the higher-end FASST based PK line. It does feature a very deep menu system, displayed on a large, easily read LCD screen. The PL has all kinds of great features built in that will make it ideal for all kinds of r/c cars and trucks.
List price for the 4PL is about $320, though street price should be much cheaper. It’ll start hitting shelves late next month or early December. Keep checking out the Futaba web site for more info.

On my large scale cars i am using the third channel as a slave channel for the 2nd channel as a brake mix for front- and rearbrakes (controlling both channels at the same time when i brake), and the 4th for operating a killswitch on the engine.
