Slightly better but still a bit slow and underpowered for 1/8 scale. You should get that second 7955. All of your problems will go away.

any1 got a 7955tg for sale?:D

Right on! Really the only test is on the track. Specs won't tell you if a Servo is smooth (Airtronics are not), fast under load, or durable.

The specs on all servos and most RC gear are made up marketing BS. They may actually meet thoses specs, but that info is nearly worthless when you dig a little deeper. Those specs are with no load.

A 7955 casn often move faster than a high speed servo like the 7940. Just put your weight down on your car to load those front tires and turn that wheel. I learned that factoid from giant scale airplanes.

Servos get slower when load is applied. The 7955, 7950, don't slow down as much thanks to all that torque.

Completely agree for steering. With the throttle applying much less load to the servo than the steering the high speed servos don't slow down nearly as much. They do slow down when you apply the brakes, but you can't really feel the speed once the brakes are already applied. I personally like the feel of the super fast servo on throttle. I know a lot of people that don't though. Kind of a personal preference thing I guess.

True, the 7940 is a better pick for throttle.

I was just ranting about todays goofy specs.

Yeah, you know how that goes. Just like all RTR engines make 2.5 HP and 90,000 RPM.:ha:

my 7985 has 180oz at .12 sec, and when i put a couple throttle return bands on it, i really can't tell a difference in speed. And the anti lock brakes nullify the speed on brakes too i think.

Anti-lock Brakes huh? I used to run those. Found that over time the only thing they do is wear servos out quicker. They really didn't make the brakes any smoother for me, so I stopped using them. I would think their may be a bigger effect for On-road racing. I didn't like them for Off-road.;)

No but I just don't feel the 9100s is good enough on the losi. I feel like a torque servo on throttle would last alot longer.

will the hitech 7955 run on 7.4 volts?

you can check out the detail over here... 6.0V

http://www.hitecrcd.com/products/ser...hs-7955tg.html

since it's 24kg servo it's quite powerful too, best run on 1/5 gas powered baja... for throttle control & front brakes...:D
