i do mine on both both off the ground is my first setting with no pressure on servos o do it to hear for it making noises ive burt servos from not doing endpoints and the best way sinc is off ground listen for buzzing if ur car hit maximum steering wothout buzzing its still safe to put ur endpoints a lil less then full steering in case u hit somthin ur servo will be able to flex more without any binding up and possible breaking

I make an adj while off the ground to get them close and then sit it on the ground and let suspension come to its normal ride height. Then adjust to where its just barely touching and back off til I can just see clearance on both sides.

Correct, check it though the full suspension travel, and after setting camber, toe in, and such. Leaving a little play.

P.S. If you have sub trim on your radio, use it to center your steering before setting endpoints/travel/whatever your radio calls it. Then use regular trim for ongoing fine tuning after setting endpoints.

Reason is sub trim moves endpoints, regular trim does not. Same applies to other channels, throttle etc.

Never hurts to recheck endpoints occasionally either, in case anything wears/deflects/etc. Its easy enough to do.

Bonus points for driving slow circles each way, check for equal turning radius in each direction.
