By default the maximum lockout you can set is 3000mA ( for safety reasons ) but if you wish to program a higher lockout you can change the maximum lockout available by stepping down to max lockout in the set-up menu. Here you can set the maximum lockout up to 5000mA. You will then be able to program phase 2 lockout to a maximum of 5000mA. But the user has to be aware of the dangers of setting a high lockout.

batteries seem to feel punchier for longer and then as they dump they go flat quicker. able to run 10 mins plus on 19t @ some speed.

Radio,

I'm pretty close to that, I'll have to make a few tweaks and match it up see if I can feel a difference. What cells are you using and what do you get into them?

Last weekend I took TQ and won the ROAR region 12 12th scale stock race. I did have a lot of help, thanks to all there, it was agood race, particularly thanks to Steve Ashby for his sportsmanship, a true gent.

Team Almighty GP 3700's

Going in high 3900's without equalizing and up to 4200 equalizing to 0.1v on a Novak Smart Tray

crimson eagle 10-31-2005 02:14 PM

Radio,

That's pretty good, I'm not a huge fan of the Smart tray myself. I generally get in about 4350 on my new 3700's. My old ones were crazy, when i first got them they could take 4800 every time, now they are at around 4500, still very good cells.

Try a regular discharge tray like the cheap integy version or a pro match tray and leave them on there for 5 or 6 hours or so ( I have gone to 10 hours without a problem), you should be able to squeeze a little more in there. And the more you get in, the more you get out

Discharge FET

I'm sorry but I looking to replace the discharge FET on my 20A pro-trak,
does anyone have the component specs/id number so I can buy one.
Many thanks.

crimson eagle 11-04-2005 11:04 AM

Yada,

I don't know if Phil gives out that info, I'll ask him though. However even if you do change out the FET, your discharge current will be off and the unit will need to be recalibrated. This is not something you can do.

Chris.

What % pulse setting are you using, I have been trying for more punch and have tried similar set up, changed the lockouts now (didn't know you could do that!) currently the pulse is set at 50%, is that too high?

Just found Crimson's set up at 30%.

Is there any benefit or downside to upping the pulse?

crimson eagle 11-05-2005 07:02 AM

Barry,

I have tried 50% pulse from a 6A base but I didn't feel much difference from 30% from a 7A base. If you would like to try it and let us know that would be great. To get the most useful data I always like to compare any charge method against a regular 5A linear charge done on the same cells running about 4 cycles of each running alternate cycles, i settled on what I'm doing now as I'm getting good data 4350 Mah in on charge with 3700's and well equalized cells.

Hi Radio,

Those numbers sound a little high, you might want to ask Phil to check your discharge rate. Try equalising first and see what you get in on Charge. My new 3700's fully equalized is right qround 4400.

Chris

radio_car_racer 11-11-2005 03:06 PM

no need to ask Phil, I'll put an ammeter on it and adjust the pot myself ;)

mind you it should'nt be out as it's only 5 month's old and hasn't been connected the wrong way round to upset the discharge fet
