I agree about running some drag brake. But I don't like running initial brake higher than drag brake. But that just me personally. As for the rest. PWM frequency control how "hard" the brake pulse is. So 500hz has a longer pulse than 2Khz. So 500 will feel stronger.
If there is plenty of traction then turn your brake control rate up to 20 and PWM to 500 and drag brake to 15%, see how this feels. If you having a hard time with the 15% drag brake then turn it down to 1% at a time until it is controllable. |

Running a lot of initial brake is not something I normally do either but for some reason it really works on the XR10, I believe Bruno runs about 18%. And yes lower brake frequency will be stronger, I know someone who runs 1K but I prefer the feel at 2K this seems to be quite a personal thing I just find it a little sharp on 1K. The problem with running a lot of drake brake is that it will bring more geat into the motor
But will give all the suggestions a go. to see if I can get the braking similar or same as LRP flow team works. Thanks, Leonard. |

Thats why I run zero drag brake to keep heat down. Track temps during the day often go past 60+C and even when it cools down, track temps stay around the 45-50C.

can anyone give an opinion on the performance of the xr10 stock spec or pro ESC vs the older v3.1? Notably looking for stock buggy racing. Is there any difference in punch with the xr10 pro vs stock spec? My old justock had less punch than v3.1 which is why I ask

Anyone hear anything about a 32bit controller coming soon?
Seems other manufacturers are already talking about them. |
Wierd throttle response!
Hello,
I'm running the XR10 pro and was very happy with the performance. I've been running it every weekend for about 3 months and no issues until this past weekend. Intermittently when I get off throttle slowing down approaching the corner the car excellerates. It was very strange. I reset the default setttings and checked to make sure the coast setting was off, and it still does it but not all the time. Very confused, I haven't changed anything, same motor same receiver , radio not sure what to do? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Max |

Not sure this applies, but I had a similar problem this week, only it was a hesitation under acceleration. Not consistent, but frequent. Did the same as you, reset, rebind, re-calibrate, then my son took one look at it and saw the sensor cable was starting to come unplugged from the esc. Pushed it in and the problem went away. Apparently the esc does not show an error mode when sensor mode is lost.
Bruce Thanks for the advice, I actually changed the sensor wire to make sure that wasn't the cause of the problem and recalibrated my radio, no bueno. I'm going to change receiver and radio and try again next weekend and see what happens. I know K.O. radios can have issues sometimes with Hobbywing esc's when throttle or brake is turned up to 150% Turned it back down to 100% it's still doing it. |
Hi, my laptop came back from the repair shop with windows 10 installed on it. Will the Hobbywing link still work on it for my program boxes and ESCs?
Thanks for your help |

Hi Angelo,
I agree with Bar's comment about brakes in blinky stock racing. The brakes are decent on the XR10pro (using r1 wurks v15 13.5t motor or Fantom FR-1 Team works 13.5t both have high strength rotors). But the LRP flow team works esc has better high speed brakes. (ie. pulling up off straight into tight turn - Brendale track the LRP esc I can precisely pull the car up off the back straight consistently. The XR10pro esc with all the same gear, pulls up, but not as consistent and not quite as strong). I am same as Bar and not putting down the HW esc. I would just like stronger high speed braking. This also happens from from the start of the run and is the same throughout. I don't think its a heat related related issue. (plus I check temps and both esc and motor are well within operating temps). My brake settings are: drag brake - zero brake force - 100 initial brake - equals drag brake brake curve - linear brake frequency - 1khz brake control - linear Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Leonard. |
The brake effect on all our speed controllers from the xr10 range will be subject to many factors including motor used see some motors have less mangetic strenght especially stock motors of say Trinity or R1 which means yes more RPM but yes to also less brakes no matter what the setting is .
