- Detachable Receiver wires like some of the ORCA and Speed Passion controllers
- Built in switches on everything, believe it or not, this was why I went with Hobbywing instead of Orca
-No pre-soldered wires that are impossible to remove with a normal iron
-Keep the black theme, looks great
-For software, the ability to create your own profiles and name them whatever you would like e.g. 5.5t mod (insert track name)
-ability for 7.4V BEC is welcome

+1 on all these suggestions

Hey I have the blue hobbywing just stock ecu.. It's rated down to an 8.5 motor for on road and 11.5 off road.. I'm just wondering if I could go down to a 10.5 and the ecu be ok

I believe that's already a feature, but you must do it with the program box connected to your PC. I know I have done it on my SCT Pro.

Really? Ive got the program box and a pc to connect it with. I'm using the stock spec

For the Xerun 120amp V3.1 and stock spec, the maximum amount of effective timing
(Boost timing + Turbo Timing) for firmware vs110119 was 60 degrees. Is that still correct for the latest version firware?
thanks

How do I verify blinky using the program box on a V3.1? I plugged my box into a fellow racers to help him and I can't find how to put it in 508 locked timing mode.

Quick question for you all running the hobbywing 120 1s 3.1 speedo in 12th scale with futaba receiver and want to run a receiver pack http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBYET&P=7 so the servo runs at full voltage how do you wire it up with the speedo? do you need to remove a wire from the speedo? i forgot let me know

On a v3.1 Blinky Mode is Profile 2.

Just an FYI for everyone ..

Any reference to 508 No Timing Firmware is for V2.1 based ESC's. In v2.1 ESC's you had to change firmware on the ESC to get different modes (Blinky, Stock, etc), With the introduction of v3.x ESC's the firmware has 'Profiles', you can easily switch profiles (Mod, Blinky, Stock, etc) without having to change firmware.

Hey Jason .. I have not tried this on a 1S, but when I used the V3.1 2S in 1/12, I pulled the red wire when using a RX pack.

You will need to remove the red wire from the speedo plug before connecting to the receiver.

Make sure your receiver can operate at 8.4v. which will be the charged voltage of the pack.

Thanks. How do you program that profile from the 3in1 pit box?

V3s just put timing and boost to zero and it will automatically go into blinky

Is the boost diagram correct?

Hello all,
I found this diagram from a hobbywing setup sheet and I wonder if it correct or it should be somehow reversed. Your help and explanation is highly appreciated, since I am new in the EC class and I am trying to understand it.

When I read this diagram, I understand that either while timing advances from 0 to 10 degrees the rpm increases from 6.000 to 30.000 and then rpm remains stable at 30.000, while timing continues to increase from 10 to 64 degrees, or because we all know that the function should be Timing(rpm) according to f(x), from 6000 to 30.000 the timing has gained 10 degrees but instantly at 30.000 timing booms to 64 degrees and rpm remains for ever at 30.000.

I believe that both of the above interpretations are wrong, because the diagram is wrong and it should be like the diagram in my_boost.jpg.

Do you agree and if not why?

Thanks in advance.

question:

is it possible to run a wire extension to the ESC (V2.1) and still have the hobbywing LCD program box work? I have tried this with 2 different extensions but it doesn't power the LCD Programmer properly. Like there is an odd voltage drop or something. once I remove the extensions, all is fine. Since the hobbywing v2.1 isn't like the speed passions where you can plug in the wire to the esc as its coming out of the esc direct, any ideas?
