Yes you can but you will either need an older SP Program card (LCD) which can be migrated to HW v1.06 but be aware it is very difficult to roll them back to SP V1.05. Buy a Hobbywing LCD Card to do the job but.............

.......... What is the point, the SP518 software is as near as damn it the same as HW 528, also Speedpassion are being quite ANAL about warranty repairs when the incorrect company software is installed. Personally I would nowadays run SP Software on SP products and HW software on HW products.

Course you can do as you please it is your own equipment but truthfully there is little (if any) benefit from running HW software on your GT2.0.

Hope it helps

Cherry xx

I agree with stuart on this issue use hw with hw and sp with sp .

The biggest Area were i fault sp is that they over inflate specifications causing there esc's and motor's to cook .

Does anyone have a setup for a Novak 21.5, and the Hobbywing Xerun with this software. What FDR should I start at?

Course the car projecting a full colour 3D holographic image of Kylie in her Undies would be a perfect use for setting 11, assuming the processor is up to the task of showing such a vision of female perfection.

HW any idea if the CPU is up to it?

I have been testing the HW Xerun 60A/Nosram 13.5T on my bike quite a lot lately... The last few days I did some "extreme" tests, right before leaving for the Worlds at Grenoble, France, next Monday. The racing will start on next Thursday, August 5.

Also, I am running with fixed gearing, as the organizers ordered for Stock bikes at 6.7/1 (actually I can do a 6.639/1 well within the rules window), which is quite high (giving top speed) and comparable to a 2WD buggy.

So, the "extreme" conditions were large track (50m main straight, 35 and 30m "small" straights), noon and afternoon with ambient temps soaring from 33 to 38*C. The owners of the track, www.fanatix.gr, kindly lend me the keys to the track every time I ask, so I use it alone, without the fear of 1/8 and 1/10 nitro cars! Unfortunately I do not have access to the lap timing system, but one can't have it all, right?!

I had to tone down the settings for the turbo, to these:
Option 4 = 2 or 3 (I need it to be extra soft on my super-happy throttle finger!)
Option 9 = 2
Option 12 = 5
Option 13 = 8
Option 14 = 5
Option 15 = 2

with these, the motor ran at 75-78*C after 10-12 minutes of continuous running at those temps. I think it is quite safe.

Earlier on, I was running the critical settings a bit higher, but then, after Easter, the temps were always around 25 to 28*C, so the motor never really temped above 60-65*C... Let's hope Grenoble won't be as hot! The current settings took my laps a bit down, made the bike more drivable (a plus, this one, for this inexperienced driver!) and made for longer runtimes...

However, at the Worlds we will be given a handout LRP X12, timed at -10* from the box, which I suppose we will keep after the 4-day race, since we will have paid for them 45 euros.

More to watch at: www.rcbikeworld2010.com in all languages!

There's also a link to the track's webcam there.

Preparation is going good so far, I even had a friend paint a new lexan and rider for me, in the colors of 2010 WSBK rider Troy Corser/BMW S1000RR.
(more pics at: www.steliosh.net/rcmoto/kp09e/ )

Remember, I'm strictly talking about a 1/5 rc bike, here! Not a TC!

Here's a pic of the new paint scheme!

Has anyone had any luck using 528_Stock as if there was no turbo? I tried: 12/1, 13/9, 14/9, 15/7 and it is sloooow with my XERUN 13.5. Of course I lowered the FDR to make up for it. I am now using SP 100110_Stock firmware (no turbo) with a 5.1FDR and it's fast, but I hate reflashing every time I want to switch between the boost class and regular old school non-boost class. Anyone?

Anyone got a photo of the xerun 120a v2.1? All I see on google search is the v2.0.

If its the blue spirit version then they look just the same. (apart from the caps which are smaller on the 2.1)

Hi Guys,

I have a weird problem with my HW120A

rollout 32mm
Nemesis and Duo2 17.5
4PK radio

settings:
1=1
2=1
3=4
4=9
5=4
6=1
7=2
8=1
9=8
10=1
12=7
13=1
14=1
15=4

this ESC has one meet without issue and on its second meet (last night) it is playing up,

on the track it will feel fine, then down the straight (where the turbo would normally kick in) the car looses power/turbo and then runs at approx 50% power.

It does not recover until I cycle the power, it then works fine for a while till it happens again.

this happens without any pattern and at random,

we can replicate this on the bench and there is a click/thud from the motor when it disengages, again totally at random,

note that the motor and ESC are barely getting warm at all,

to try and solve the problem so far we have:

changed motors: 17.5 nemesis and 17.5 duo 2 (both at 0% motor timing)
changed sensor leads
re-binded the radio/receiver
reset the ESC
reset the ESC at 90% throttle
turn down all the settings (as above)
turn off Thermal protection and Lipo cutoff

if anyone can help it would be much appreciated,

Rod M.
