Guys,
nobody cann ive you a setup on the net....
It al depents on track, drivestyle etc....
You really have to learn how it works..

If you know that, its easy.
In about 4 batteries, i can adjust the HW as fast as a Tekin...
every track etc....

I'm not asking for somebody to perfect it for me. I'm looking for a baseline that another driver has found that works for them so I can see if it is a good starting point. People post their settings all the time. This type of request isn't unprecedented for those of us who aren't as innately gifted as you when it comes to esc set up.

Ooh man, stepped on some toes there....;)
That wasn`t the goal.
Really, it is useless to compare settings for different tracks.

Will the Xerun 60A run on 1S lipo? I'm going to use a separate RX pack in 12th scale.

I get it. I am just trying to get a baseline to start from. Again, this is my first esc with boost or turbo. Trying to get an idea how the two interact. What works for your track may not be perfect for my track but it is probably better than me fumbling in the dark.:)

Chaz,

when you buy it, there is a small instruction with some examples for the setting for different turns motors. Begin with that.
Make sure you look at the motor temperature, not higher then 75 celcius.
Just measure every 2 minutes.

If the temp is lower then start adjusting the parameters, you can add more timing to begin with and also play with the rpm settings. lower start rpm and the shorter rpm/deg ramp, wil make the car accelerate faster..
Turbo is the last setting to adjust, when the car is driving ok in the infield,

just watch your temp. off the motor.

If you did the above, for a day or so, then start changing youre gearing and do it all over, till it suits your driving style, best is to get a car that keeps on accelerating from zero to top, equal...

what is agood setup for 17.5 with a 120amp 2.1 esc

Thanks. I didn't see a manual with my speed control. Perhaps they forgot to include it? I appreciate the help because I was having some difficulty getting my head around where the boost and turbo interacted. Again, much appreciated.:nod:

Really Chaz, do the reading and enjoy this cool esc..!!
Here is the file:
http://www.hobbywing.com/english/downloadsm.asp?id=40

I know, its a bit difficult to find the right explanation and data.
I did hours off reading in the tekin thread....read all.... so hours...lol 20+
DDRS is current limiter bye the way, that you cant find anywhere....lol
position 9 = no limit or so...

Then look in the tekin thread at the posts off micky32 or search his posts,
He explains how all works...!!! then translate that to your own HW.

The only important parameters are:

Timing boost
turbo
turbo delay
rpm where all timing happens (start and end rpm of giving extra timing)

Good luck

SO by your wealth of knowledge FDR is not an important factor?? And the punch setting has no effect on anything?? really your better off not giving any advice if you are going to give bad advice.

If your new to this speedy then search this thread for early posts by Razzor. he explains this speedy very well. Saying Mikky32 and the tekin thread is a good place to start when he has been banned for just dribbling soooo much shit is wrong. Are you the new handle for Mikky? can we geta mod to do a isp check :lol:

When i started with this speedy i had the following settings suggested.

DRRS 4
Boost max
Turbo 3
start 3000
Delay 0.3
punch -3
FDR ask some of the fast guys at your track and what ever they say take off a couple of teeth to be safe. then drive the car.

these are safe settings and should not blow anything up or get too hot. You can then start playing with settings one at a time till you get a feel for what does what and effects the power curve and adjust it to suit your style of driving and the track you run.

Personally i like a low fdr and run max boost with minimal turbo and a touch of motor timing. Like everything on a board this is my opinion. If you want more advice send me a PM.

For those too lazy to look. This is good advice.

No, not with 12th scale.:sneaky:

rccartips 11-04-2010 03:09 AM

Hi, which is faster for no-boost class?

508 NO_Boost

or

518 Stock with boost and turbo turned off?

Thanks.

Guys, I think you both just wanna help folks as best as you can.
Benzaah, Roy is no Mikky, I can assure you.

Just both keep giving your input. Most guys here will figure out which info works best for them.

Benzaahs way is probably best if you're totally new to this esc,
Rbakkers information might get you some more insight (and understanding) about the technical aspects.

Any setups available on the 1S? I know it is relatively new but I've been working with mine a few days in 12th scale and while it is marginally faster than my SPX I haven't yet been able to come up with a setting that is close to on par with a well set up Tekin.

Well, although you indeed have to find out yourself, here is my set-up... Which is faster then LRP SS and Tekins on the track, BUT don't forget, the driver is also quiet important :sneaky:

Car: S120L
Lipo: IP, 5600mAh/50C
Motor: LRP X12 13.5T Timing insert: 4 dots (-10 degrees)
Rollout: 57mm (43mm rear tyres, 80 spur, 34 pinion)
ESC Settings:
4 = 9
9 = 8
12= 8
13= 3 (6000rpm)
14= 1 (off)
15= 2

Motor temp. after 8 min. = 85 Celsius (185 F)
