go with a servo that has metal gears and youll be set you can pick them up for under $30 new or you can buy a hv servo that can pretty much steer your real car jk lol

Hitec, is same as Tower Hobbies, is same as Hobbico. While Hobbico is the lowest priced one.

Hobbico CS-160:
Digital
Dual Ball Bearing
Metal Gear
4.8V = .17 sec @ 6V = .14 sec
Torque: 4.8V = 110 oz-in (7.92 kg/cm)
6V = 131 oz-in (9.43 kg/cm)
Length: 1.59" (40.6mm)
Width: .79" (20.3mm)
Height: 1.5" (38.1mm)
Weight: 2.11oz (59.8g)

Priced under $40 for Hitec quality servo.

check these out:
http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/categ...HD-Servos.html

215oz-in. at 4.8v WOW!

That one particular is taller so make sure it fits. If not, look at other HD servos.

Why in the world would you be interesed in that much torque for a 10th scale 2WD buggy?

Stick with the more important specs like SPEED, weight, metal gear AND output shaft, DIGITAL, dual BB, integrated heatsink, water tight seals etc.

No 10th scale 2WD car needs anything more than 10kg of torque.

That stupid crap isn't any faster than the stock servo in the B4.

PaPeRo:

I was thinking about the same. In addition, why would they only sell few of the full line of their HD servos? It is simple, they beat any other brand name servo for 1/4 the price. There is no need to sell/offer other servos as one does it "all".

That servo is also fast: 0.16/0.14 sec/60°

So to answer your question: Just because! There is no good reason not to unless you want to save 15 grams or less and spend more $$.

That servo you recommended is not bad either. But I would factor lengthy shipping that can take many weeks and can be expensive too, and forget any warranty with the HK purchases. Troybuiltmodels is US based firm in Sarasota FL. I would buy from Troy before I buy anything from HK unless you point a gun at me.

And when you retire it from 1/10 scale, you can put it to 1/8 or may be event to 1/4 scale and hook it up to 2 cells lipo pack direct. That is when you get 284oz-in.

With all due respect, that is NOT fast. That's the same speed as the STOCK servo in the B4. Fast is anything 0.10 and less. The OP is asking for an Upgrade, a servo with the same speed as a stock servo is not an upgrade. The extra torque is useless in this situation.
