i am new to the LiPo thing. I just bought a slash 4x4 it will be here next week and was wondering if this would be a good battery? The
Venom LiPo 3S 2P 11.1V 6400mAh 20C
I know that they say not to but the nimh 6 cells under 3600 because of the quality but the higher ones are ok.
if not any good recommendations?
thanks for any info

You didn't say if the Slash 4x4 was the brushed or brushless version. If it is the brushed system then that would be a very good battery. However if the slash is the brushless version, I would suggest you look at a battery that has a C rating of 30C+ due to the amp draw of a brushless system.
You most likely will end up stressing a 20C Lipo with a brushless system and it may not deliver the punch you would expect.
Anything 11.1 Volt, 5000mAh or more and 30C or more would be a great battery for the slash 4x4 brushless.
Just my -98cents worth, Hope it helps.

Think this would be a good lipo considering its capacity and the C rating. This lipo will deliver 6400/1000 X 20 = 128amps continuous. Its the current which is a function of both C rating and capacity, not just the C rating by itself that determines what a lipo can produce for current. The high capacity makes up for a lower C rating in this case.
As long as it fits, think this would be a good lipo.
