Default LRP fan question

I recently got a LRP Sphere used off the trade section - works great - really good - but the fan sounds like its a 747 preparing for lift off.

The track I ran it at, I was the only one I know of running an LRP - so I had nothing to compare it to - other than everyone said it's the loudest fan they have ever heard.

Good news was the LRP stayed cool in my XX4 - it was just really loud.

Anyone hear of that or have a fix?

Thanks for the help, Nick

At least I know I'm not crazy.

Thanks.

Mines loud too. Sitting at the starting like its like a turbine engine waiting to let the afterburner go and rocket off. Its LOUD. I thought was just me... I'm going to take other fan off and put some oil in the baring. see what that does...

I'd be interested to know what it does. I don't get to wrench as much as I used too. That was one of my thoughts - just haven't gotten to it yet.

FWIW i have never run a fan on my lrp sphere. I have a 7.5 in my lazer SP and now FS. I have run it outdoors in hot temps as well.

Yeah, I dont really need my fan either. At least I dont think so. My temps are around 80 with it indoors. This sunday if I make it to the track. I'll let you all know about the oil thing.

I don't run a fan on my sphere either but the tc model comes with a fan that is hard wired and in order to remove it and for it to actually look nice you would need to tear apart the case. I run my tc sphere in my B44.

I was surprised with the fan noise too. I doubt any lube will help, or be able to keep up with the speed if it. It is like a turbo blower system. I have one of my TCs with the fan and one without. I think I'll remove the fan on the second one too. If you drop something in the blades, WHAMOOO!
