Do i really need to balance the lipo everytime when i charge it? it seems like i can balance the lipo for every 3 to 5 charges.

I use a triton jr vbalance combo and like it. Also use a TP610c with built in balancer.

Depends on the battery and if you run it all the way down to the cut-off, if your using one. my lipos need balancing way more often if I run them down, which I don't do very often.

If you have a DVM, its easy enough to check cell voltages and track them. Run lipo a moderate amount and see how much that discharge imbalanced the cells. Run some more and check again. That way you develop a feel for when they should need balancing.

I like to keep my batteries in good condition so I balance on every charge, doesn't hurt.
