sorry here it is.....

here's a better pic... anybody got any pics of they're electronics layout?

JayBee that is a real
nice looking paintjob. Here is a picture of my layout. I just had to get a "Hara Twister" for my Pro 4, so this Zero Extreme is for sale. http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL466...7/62810761.jpg |

A couple of questions before I put the Keyence in...
#1) Is the heatsink necessary? All I will be running is STOCK @ this point, and.. #2) Is the heatsink as effective if I wanted to mount it to the side opposite to the left/right function indicators? I guess there's 3 questions, #3) If I use SHOEGOO, will it conduct heat sufficiently from ESC- heatsink? - jAyBeE |
JayBee:
#1) Is the heatsink necessary? All I will be running is STOCK @ this point, and.. No, I run Mod and I dont run a heat sink. #2) Is the heatsink as effective if I wanted to mount it to the side opposite to the left/right function indicators? No, to mount the heatsink you must remove the name plate badge and adhere the heatsink to the FET heatsink plate underneath. #3) If I use SHOEGOO, will it conduct heat sufficiently from ESC- heatsink? Shoo goo is fine as long as its a VERY thin film. The double sisded tape (not servo take but thin double sided clear tape) is the best thin to use. if there is any thicknet to what you use to mount the heatsink you might as well not put it on. |
Is there anything that can go wrong with the 2002 that would cause it to arc the brushes in a mod touring car excessively(like completely burning up the bruhses till they turn silver?) It was fine the one week then this happened the next week with two different motors. Could the esc have been damaged by not running a schotky or the special keyence capacitors? Any way to test the esc?

Long time- no hear from; if you remember, I contacted you awhile back about this Keyence. You didn't have any in at the time but I managed to find one and here I am as promised to ask YOU ;) for help  . I'm not at that point right now but just giving you a heads-up. - jAyBeE |
WHAT'S THIS?
Anyone know what the HECK this little 2" yellow wire is for? |
i think the yellow wire is used if you have a FET servo. the wire gives it 7.2volts for power, instead of being stepped down to 6 volts.

ALL DONE!!
Alright, I'm all done installing the Keyence, getting the wires all out of eachothers way (as much as I could), and trying to make it all look good at the same time. I have to admit though, I'm pretty freaked out to turn it on to start programming it. Being in this hobby only about 7 mnths, reading the manual on this thing was overwhelming. So what's the 1st thing I should do? I don't know if this matters, but I'm running a pretty simple radio- JR's XR2i. I'm going to be running stock, but none of the settings in the manual goes into 27t. ANY AND ALL HELP IS NEEDED AND MUCH APPRECIATED :D  - JaYbEe OH BTW, should I cut off the little yellow wire  |
Do I need to install the three CAPS that are included with this ESC?
- JaYbEe |
Try the factory setting #5 for stock.
Those capacitors are for your motor. Since you are running that Epic motor, you won't be needing the caps. That motor have caps installed. I'm sure you already knew that.:) I would leave the 7.2V lead alone. Enjoy, HW |
