Hey, I need a new radio for my car that I will be receiving shortly. I want to use this car to get into some club racing. How does the JR XS3 compare to more costly radios?

It's reasonably priced and the specs seem good. If anyone has any other suggestions around the 200 mark it will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I currently use the XS3 and have had no problems with it. It does everything I need it to and while I would love to get a M11 or a Sprektrum, it's hard to beat the cost of the XS3. I think JR discontinued it so finding a new one might be difficult, but I bet you'll be able to find one for sale in the Classifieds.

if you want a 2.4 radio they are much better, 4x faster than your 75mhz radios and i believe it too. futaba 3pm fasst vs my old jr xr2i, so much better with responce and i noticed my driving got better.

Thanks for the input.
Im now stuck between these items.
Spektrum (#2030F) DX3 DSM Radio System $249
JR (#DSX3 TRD) TRD 2.4Ghz DSM $189
Futaba 3pm fass $208
I really dont want to spend more than $250. THe spektrum has servos included the other 2 dont. So please help me decide on a radio.

If your going to be using the radio in a electric car then the 2 servos that come with the car are only half useful since you only need one and you'll soon want to upgrade to a better servo anyway.
The Sanwa MX-3 FHSS 2.4ghz radio is another radio to consider and should be selling in Aus for about $220 -$225 without servos, they currently sell for $250 with servos.
One big selling point you should consider when buying a new radio is to find a radio that fits comfortably in your hand. There is no point owning the top of the wazzo radio if its uncomfortable to hold.
