Thank you. What is the motor limit on this speedo? On Hobbywings web page it says 5.5 - on-road and 8.5 off-road. I am assuming that these are recommendations and not motor limits.

Thanks again for your help. I really want to try on of these speedos as I hear really good things about them. Plus they are half the price of the Orions and the same speedo.

Cool. That is the motor I have in it now. Waiting for the Tekin to come out and will try that.

What would be a good hobbywing esc and motor combo sensored for 2WD offroad buggies?

Depends what motor you want to run. If its a 17.5t, then you'd want to go for the ezrun or xerun 60a, depending if it's sensored or not. the ezrun can only handle sensorless motors, while the xerun can handle sensored too.

exactly how powerful of a motor do you want to run?

I have two identical T4.1 one for stock class and one for mod class the stock class has a tacon 3200kv motor sensorless and the mod is a 6.5 tacon sensored both trucks have a xerun 120A v2.1 esc I am new to these hobbywing esc's need some help on what software to run

Currently I run at an offroad track with a fairly large straight away...it's a great track for SC trucks (which I also run). In the winter I might run indoors on a carpet track which will be much smaller but I don't mind buying a different motor at that time.

What would be the fastest motor to go with and the slowest one...I see some they are calling stock class and others on hobbypartz site they are saying the timing can be changed...
Is this what I'm after: http://www.hobbypartz.com/3-5t-3650-...-120a-lcd.html

Ok one last question and I will place my order Hobbypartz has the 120 amp v2.0 and Rcmushroom has the 120 amp v2.1. What is the difference or is it just a firm ware update?

Thanks again for your help.

hi all , i have a xerun 60a 8.5t combo in a 4x4 1/10 buggy , ive read great things about the esc and the combo is real nice but am interested to hear peoples opinions on the hobbywing motors compared to the bigger name companies . i feel i can handle a bit more motor and not sure whether to stick with hw or spend a little more on lrp , trinity ect . cheers gopes

That's alot of motor for a 2wd buggy. If its a tighter track you run at, you'd be much better off with a motor with the torque to come out of the tight corners, but not have that much top speed, which you really don't need on a tight track.

If you're after top end speed, why not try a 10.5t motor, or a Velineon 3500 kind of deal? (not the esc because its crap)

Man, I'm A huge Tekin fan and still have them.On a Whim I won An EZRUN 35A 9t Sensorless 4300kv system with program card for 50 bucks. I race My Kyosho RT5,RB5 and SCR with this system. All off road. The programming is easy but right out of the box is almost dead on.Motor might get to 140 and the esc to 105 after 20 minutes of run time.Never had any issues and the footprint of the esc is about the size of my spektrum 3100 reciever!I dont see how you can go wrong with these things! The Tekin RS's and Orion motors are on standby as my backups but I've never had to use them once."weighing out"
Tekin RS +Hotwire + Orion 7.5 vortex =$286
EZRUN with everything (ESC,Program Box,Motor) =$59 at Hobbyparts
Oh and it ships FREE!

cool thanks. I just ordered one with programer for under $100.00. This is great. I may have a couple expensive speedos as backups. LOL.

the novak and lrp arent bad, not even close. its just that the hobbywing is WAY more convinient and just as good.
