Hobbywing Updates

G'day all,

Just received a big package in the mail today, two Hobbywing XERUN 60a 2.1 ESC's, a 2-in-1 LCD Program Box and a Program Card. ;)

In one car I will be running NO timing and the other will be running timing, and I would like to find a quick guide to the update process.

Can anybody point me to a 'post' or manual to help.

1. Update PC Software,
2. Update 2-in-1 Program Box,
3. Update ESC,
4. ?

For you Aussies.....If I update to the latest software, will I still be AARCMCC legal when I run no ESC timing.

Ben

TLR22

Does anyone have a picture to share of a shoe-horned xerun 60 in a TLR 22 set up mid?

Thanks

When are the smaller foot print xeruns coming out? what will there size be?

rctechuser015851 08-08-2011 10:48 PM

just ordered a 120a xerun v2.1 10.5 combo for my cat sx3...I like the cleanliness of the wiring with the bullet connectors and I actually still have a hobbywing esc and BL motor from years ago when the BL craze first hit. Still works great, sensorless but I just use it to bash around. That system has been in so many cars and it never failed on me. Which is insane cuz the more expensive stuff I bought after that always burnt out on me or had malfunctions.

I havent tried the sensored stuff yet but I have faith that it will be smooth and reliable. Any tips I should know about?

Be super careful while calibrating the ESCs. Had a couple blow up on me the ezrun 35A. Other than that I have 2 others which are flawless uptil now the SC8 and the 60A sensored xerun. Superb value for money!!!

Anyone know the differences between the ezrun 3650(540 sized) and 3650M (380 sized) motors?

I am doing onroad.

TIA,
Ron

Believe the second is a smaller motor with a finned 3650 can and the first is a real 540 size motor.

How about torque wise? Less torque or similar? I am doing 1/10 onroad.

Think its trying to get a 1/18 scale motor in 1/10 so would be down on torque/KV and high on run time.... but I have never raced on road and also the 380 motors, so am the wrong person to answer your questions.....

Hey Guys, I got an xerun 120a for a scte, but I can't solder the motor wire into the gold sockets. Is there a technique to doing this or do I just need to use more heat?

aloksatoor 08-25-2011 05:02 PM

what motor is it?

Racer X8000 08-25-2011 05:11 PM

It's a tenshock sc401.

I am not familiar with that particular one. But generally if the solder does not stick, the motor wire is magnet wire (i.e. shielded and generally needs a solder pot to melt the insulation layer). It would be part of the motor windings in that case and you should not change the length of the motor wire then. Maybe someone who has used that motor can chime in.
