I plan on running a LRP X12 Vector 3.5T 10000KV + XERUN 120A SD + 2S LiPo in a Tamiya M04M.

120A ESC?
I was told that the 120A ESC (sensored) was the way to go from a local racer.
1st question: Where are these for sale? I have looked at all the reccommended links and still can't find such a beast for sale, even ebay! 2nd: Will the 120A even fit in the narrow chassis of a Kyosho RT5? I currently have a losi xcelorin in it and that thing BARELY fits! I just have gone through 2 losi esc's this year and am not going to buy another one! Pretty much the only other options for sensored brushless are orion, tekin, novak (been there, even worse luck!), or LRP. All those are mega buck esc's! If I can get a cheaper but just as reliable esc for half the price, why not? |
Search for 'xerun 120a' on ebay, there's heaps of them.
|
Thanks!
But do you think it will even fit in my truck? Thats the big question, the chassis is so stinkin narrow! But it rocks! |
120A EzRun is an overkill for your RT5... The Ezrun 60A V2 is all you will ever need in a 1/10th...
I believe the 120A is scaled more for 1/8 electrics... |
Both Ezrun 60A and 120A version is designed for 1/10 scale. With the 60A having a motor limit of 5.5R, and the 120A with no motor limit. They can accept only 2S to 3S lipo.
The Hobbywing 80A and 150A are for 1/8 applications. |
I stand corrected... Thanks Hardman!
|
i agree with that .... our local here almost 80% of the people using the 120a...

The Hobbywing 80A and 150A are for 1/8 applications. The EZRun are sensorless The XERun are sensored The XERun 120A is limited to 3.5T or higher motors. Also the XERuns work with both sensored or sensorless motors. http://www.hobbywing.com/english/Art...?ArticleID=448 Also if you are worried about whether the ESC is too big for your chassis here are the dimensions. XERun 120A sensored: 43mm(L) x 36mm(W) x 33mm(H) For comparison.. EZRun 60A sensorless: 31.5mm(L) x 27.5mm(W) x 24mm(H) |

I think I got mine in 2.5-3 weeks just like everyone else. I'm a bit special though. I'm in the U.S. Military living in germany, so ALL my mail gets sent to the states then to Germany.... NO MATTER where it's coming from. It could be from germany, or france and it'll still go to the states first.
J Hi, Just one to check, i tried to connect my xerun 120 V2 with a 6000Mah 2C (3P2C) Venom bat with 27mhz rcvr and i noticed that when i turned on the ESC, the motor just started to spin even with out pulling the throttle. What i did was i tried to configure the setttings (thinking that it would work) then after setting the throttle limits, still got the same results, the motor was running and the red LED is blinking ( though i dont recall the sequence of the Beep beep beep.)So what i did was i disconnect the connection from my motor to my ESC ( thinking that it my burn my motor). Any Issues using a 27Mhz Rcvr with Xerun ? or i missed out on something?. I already used and programed the ESC using the program card.... any ideas?the ESC doenst seems to be burnt because my servo is still responding to commands from my controller. DO i need to send it for repair? BTW using a 8.5T Sensored BL combo with the Esc. As i read thru the manual, normall operation, both red and green LED should not lit. Was thinking that my Reciever is the culprit as it is only a 27Mhz one (Futaba micro reciever, used on my vintage RC10). Will this cause the problem? Thanks in advance. |

They make a sensored version they named XERUN 60A and XERUN 120A those are the most reliable ESC's I've ever seen.
Myself running a 120A version it is the same as speed passion and give a big shot of power. I have run the 3.5t Trinity pulsar and the speed passion 4.0t. with top speed of 105km/h with 2cell lipo and with the temp cut on(95degr.C), and never reaced the temp cut, this mean they are good. Price by RC Market is 110.00 USD,fore this price it is worlds best ESC. Thanks Ed Xerun 120A can take up 2C lipo right? was wondering coz when i plugged my Lipo 2c (3P2C) 6000MaH 40C venom bat, the motor and esc emitted strange noice and my motor spinned automatically. the RED led lit up (blinking) duno if the voltage is too high but i think the ESC can handle such voltage coming from a 2C lipo. Also thinking that the Reciever might be the culprit (27mhz), Funny thing is, my servo is still responding to my controls. Hmm.... Any ideas?or just send the ESC for repairs.. BTW my ESC is new (xerun 120 V2) firmware is updated... hoping for answers...anyone??? thanks, |
