matching batteries
#1
could someone tell me if matched batteries are better than the batteries you buy at the local hobby shop-seems the fast cars in our slider class are running matched 1100's-if they are superior then how do you get your batteries matched-is there a way a guy can do it on his own or is there something you have to buy-is there someone in the chicagoland area near joliet that matches batteries-where does a person buy 1100's in a bulk state to be able to pick and chose the better [email protected]

I wouldnt worry about getting matched packs in the sliders, waste of money. The 1400's really make the sliders come alive so if youre rules allow them, thats the one to run and at my LHS anyway they are cheaper than the 1100's.

i understand what you are saying but our race track only allows 1100's in the stock slider class- i'm retired so i don't have the big bucks to buy say a trinity pack for 50 bucks-but there is got to be a way a guy can match them himself-thanks anyway i appreciate your trying to help-racer99

theres no need to match an 1100 pack though. cheapest way would be to find someone with an old 20 amp CE matcher and make adapters. You can use a CE GFX and do one cell at a time but by the time you buy a case of 1100's and spend the time putting them alll on a cell matcher and getting your packs matched, you might as well just get the 25 dollar packs. Somewhere on one of these threads there was a question asked to one of the matching companies if they were going to match 1100's and their response was that they did some and the outcomes were so close that they werent even going to mess with matching the smaller cells.

thanks for the input -not really the answer i wanted to hear but that's life--looks like if i want to go with matched batteries i'll have to spend the extra bucks-if i can find matched packs-thanks racer99
